There are some spots that aren’t marked that have higher traffic than other spots on the map. I found a spot on Layton’s Lake that has more deer, moose and Roosevelt elk than you could ask for. It’s not even a need zone. There just happens to be a lot. And even better, no matter how many times you shoot or kill an animal they keep coming back right away

I'd say it's waaaaaaaay more effective to purchase a bow, go out and just spam the deer bleak. Animals get attracted to the bleak from around 100-150 meters, when a deer is close enough shoot it the rest of the deer pack will run, but they actually always stay within 100-150 meters therefore you can call them in again, plus the sound of the bow only scares animals within 50- meters, so everything 50+ meters away will not get scared and still react to your calls, in that way you will always have animals coming in. So i'd say it's more effective, plus deer just drop so easily with bow/crossbow. Sorry for my bad grammar.

I spent 10 hours running around the woods trying to find deer when I first got the game. If you run at all, all the animals in the area will run away, try finding an open area to spot animals and hunt them.

Try to find need zones: as soon as you discover one, the time will be set on the map around what time you can hunt certain species.. Chance is with need zones, that as soon as you frighten something off (missed shot, or too much noise) it'll eventually come back later to the same spot. Best way is to set up hunting structures as well, and let the animals come to YOU instead of you coming to them.. Patience is requited with that.

I can say as a hunter in real life, there is more flesh to penetrate when shooting straight on versus broad side. 1:14 is when he said to shoot straight on btw. I also should point out that there is more bone when shooting broadside. That’s why shooting straight on works better.

Get the weapon pack with the .22lr. Like you was doing with the .243, but with 10 roubds per mag and nearly zero recoil. Don't even need to lure them in. With practice, you can average 2-3 geese per magazine. And with the ammo rating of 1, you get full integrity, especially since the .22lr seems to insta-kill them every single time.

If you let the geese land then shoot them off the ground after a while they will glitch and not fly off so you can shoot them with any gun you want. I have reached level 20 and unlocked all but one gun by doing this. It may take a while but once they glitch it take all of 1 min to get more coming in to land. I spent like 8 hours doing this and made up words of 300,000 Dollors. Its easy money. Give it a try.

I usually goto need zones 30 minutes before the approximate feeding time, look for higher ground and distance myself 30-60m from the marker. Guaranteed to get 1-2 kills (Red Deer) with a 7mm magnum and chase the remaining herd off. Traverse high ground if possible.

I was guessing the .470 should cost around 100,000, glad to hear it is the case. I recommend setting up 2 or 3 fields for goose hunting and cycling between them when hunting pressure builds up. Rathefeldt straw fields, specifically the Southeastern most one is my favorite spot for geese. When setting up fields I recommend placing the decoys in the middle of the field, but closer to one side, preferably near a hunting stand so you have many different spots to shoot from. The blind is both helpful but unnecessary, you can practically be nigh invisible anywhere but as soon as you ain't it spooks anything that sees you pop out of the blind. What I do is actually prone on top of the blind so I have just a lil bit of elevation and I can aim without spooking, I also recommend waiting to get 3-4 flocks in your fields once you find the good spots because you can just stack tons of geese and easily kill 2-3 in a single shot on the ground and then in air too with just a teensy bit of skill. I've yet to bring 2 shotuns though, seems like a good idea. The .22lr if you have it is PERFECT for taking geese at range with integrity but you still gotta be a good shit cause it's probably the only bullet they can survive a flesh wound to; I am uncertain if the .223 gives full integrity, however you can make insane long distance shots on the geese with it, it is very fun to use. I need to find better rabbit locations, usually I just run up on them an scare em away, but I have yet to see a real horde of bunnies.

I always wait for the geese to land before i shoot at them. Often times they will land close together in clumps and i can kill multiple geese with one shot. I frequently can kill entire flocks of 6-8 geese using this method.

Level 4 bears at the lake in the second zone. Go to the watering hole in the West, there is a small land bridge connecting to forests, hide in the reeds, then wait the bears to rear up or the moose or what every. Always aim for the chest when they're facing towards you or a little off to the side to miss the shoulder blade. then get a. A easy double lung/ heart shot. Easy $800-$1100 everytime.

I just use goose dlc. Go to hirschfelden map, set ground blind and bunch of gooses on ground and start calling them with goose caller. Soon they will land and you can get easily 4 gooses from one herd. Farm that for a while and you have 50k

I just bought this game about two weeks ago, and at first, I kind of hated it. Every shot had to be perfect. Then, I made a decision that changed my COTW life: I bought the Modern Rifle Pack DLC for $3.99 and equipped the Zarza-10 .308 Let me say this: if you are a beginner, and you want to level up the old fashioned way, don't do this. Stick with the .243, and take your time. But if you want to progress a million times faster, and actually knock down your targets without having to be right on top of them, spend the $4, buy the DLC, and be amazed. I cannot stress to you enough the difference that it made. It is literally a game-changer. It will be the best $4 you've ever spent.

Saw some comments about the sound he makes when moving and that you make a lot more. Having a backpack will greatly increase the sound you make. Put on a backpack check the sound meter. Take it off and compare.

Just an FYI sir I'm not sure if you're going to read this or not but I am an avid Hunter to say the least and next shots are quite common and very lethal with a rifle. Spine shots are lethal with a bow but are strongly unrecommended due to the fact that just a little slip and you'll either Miss or you can hit high lungs which can be bad too

With deer herds if you get in cover and call them and shoot them when they are close, reload and recall them immediately and they come back in about 30 seconds to a minute. Rinse repeat til the heard is dead. Then collect rewards

I’ve found loads of need zones in Layton. I spawn in, check the time and wind, creep to 150m upwind from the zone, binos out, never anything there. Also the noise that sounds like a heavy metal sign swinging on a rusty hinge all the time, aaaaaaaaargh! Will be jacking this game in before long I think. Glad only spent £15 on it. Flinters videos are really good though, learnt a lot but can’t do anything with knowledge as no animals.

Spine shots are probably more common than you think when you're out actually hunting. Don't always have a broadside shot or they're in the timber moving away. I'd say it's pretty ethical they don't live long from that and they don't get that adrenaline shot and then run into some hole.

A neck shot is an ethical shot IRL. with a 243. and up it will snap their neck, rendering them dead within a minute. i use a 270. and a 7mm. heart double lung and neck shots respectively. neck drops immediately, heart double lung gives em 30 seconds to run and about 1 minute before they're out.

Do animals respawn or is there a set amount of them on the map when you start? Do they just pop in or are they actually throughout the map at all times? Do they reproduce and does that mean you can modify the population by only killing certain types of a species?

So you have a population of animals. That population is the same population every time you hunt. When you shoot an animal, another one with similar parameters spawns. (ie if you shoot a whitetail buck, a similar sized whitetail buck spawns, sometimes bigger, sometimes smaller, but usually a difficulty level up or down.) So basically. Shooting the trophy caliber game means a chance of another trophy spawning

I just bought this game last night, I lost track of a White tail deer through the thick of the bushes, I eventually gave up on searching for it. (Still playing 8 hours later) I then managed to finally find the deer I lost while I was hunting ducks later on in the same session lol

My problem is when I switch I only switch between my phone and whatever is in my first slot and when I watch KZbinrs they go between their phone gun Bino‘s Calls And I have to go To my inventory and it takes like 5 minutes and then when I switch to whatever I want to switch to and then the animals will already gone

What do you recommend for bison I took a few heart shots with the 300. Magnum and it still took three shots per bison to drop?

Tip for beginners: Stay away from headshots. They do very little to take down game and are virtually inhumane. Aim for the heart and lungs.

Just today ...I did tracked a Moos for what it felt like my entire life over mountains and valleys. At the end of the infinite chase? I just shoot a poor rabbit when I lost the Moos :-D Thank you so much.

ive sat there and chased moose across the map. i shot one directly in the head and it had slow bleed and ran across the map. honestly its bullshit that a shot to the head causes minor bleeding and it can still run away as if it didnt happen

Go for the heart because you don't need to go through bone and it instantly kills them because when you hit the head your bullet stops because of the hard bone and try to shoot the moose while he's facing you so you have a higher chance of your bullet to penetrate far enough to the heart Hope this helps
