I always have one question , when come to profit of 12% or some other. When you say 12% return, it is based on index value compared to last years. But when you invest in mutual fund, your amount is split into pieces and invest in few companies . But what if your max percentage invested stock not performed well , where as less percentage stock perform well, but total index value increase 12%. then how we say our investment gained 12%. Please correct me on it.
