point 7 and 8 are critical. you can be a very poor architect and still be very successful. the ability to sell is more important than the trade itself. I am talking directly about the function of earning more.

Thank for this video... I'm an architect from Venezuela living in Hungary and has been really hard for me to find a job here in Budapest... Those advices are really useful for me and kind of took me out my depression and frustration... so Thank you.

In the uk, architects can earn A LOT more money by working for a contractor or developer/client as an in-house architect/design manager. I increased my salary 30% compared to a traditional firm

I am Revit user for my company. I am a student who finished 1 year of Masters and has another. I get paid $5.88 per 1hr. I find it to be low in Lebanon.

@@balkanarchitect I will ask my American supervisor for a pay-raise. I work for a retail American company, I am the only skilled Revit user. At 1st 8 months we worked AUTOCAD, but last 2 months they tasked me to create parametric families for company's equipment. I did it. From now on, everything will be in Revit.

I love how you're hinting that actually being a full time architect will not make you money. I'm in an awkward country where architects are paid so low 3d render for archviz are payed twice as much so I transitioned in to being an archviz guy and also as an architect I'm bringing in something to the job that none architects cannot. I'm happy I can do it but sad that people are willing to pay for a simple image more then a thoughtful design.

You definitely learn a lot more in the industry than while in school. Unfortunately most jobs are interested in whatever experience/piece of paper you have saying you've studied XYZ says.
@GeoT-m4r3 ай бұрын
No. Being an architect is much much more than what you see on Ytb, Tik Tok whatever. There is no place for fake architects. Do your 5+ years of study and get your degree, stop asking such stupid things.

I agree completely. I just retired as an architect after a 38 year career. We had several employees with no degree who became excellent licensed architects. College in general is really becoming not worth it and there is really nothing in school you will learn that you can't learn on the job as an architect if you really want to

@mustafashahabi1358 hope you don't have any pacients. I am not saying uni makes you a good doctor or lawyer, I am saying the time spent in uni to study, to go in depth on subjects, make projects, make mistakes, learn from them hopefully, meet other students, teacher, have internships and so on, that marks a good and healthy beginning of a profession or even career. So no, saying proudly that you became a doctor without uni and diploma it is not by any means cool, or any other way, it's just wrong and superficial.
