The rear axle, or differential, fluid in my 2017 Dodge Charger R/T was overdue for servicing since I am coming up on 80,000 miles and as far as I know the fluid has never been changed....

what gear oil weight / brand did you use? i just changed mine on my 16 dodge charger 5.7 RWD and used Synthetic Gear & Axle Lubricant SAE 75W-140 MS-8985 1-Quart OEM MOPAR 68218657AB and added Mopar Limited Slip Additive 4 OZ.

Thank you for the video. I got myself a 2016 Dodge Charger Pursuit 5.7 AWD, it's in the shop for a rear differential replacement, obviously it was a little abused since it was a cop car, hopefully the shop does a good job🤞...love the Hemi power/sound 👌

I have a 06 srt8 charger do recommended changing the differential fluid I did some research say it’s mainly for Manuel transmission to change the fluid??

Diff fluid had nothing to do with whether the transmission is manual or automatic

It should be...the only difference would be between the Limited Slip rear axle and non-Limited Slip. The Limited Slip rear axle requires and additive to the gear oil. To tell whether you have Limited Slip or not is to look at the housing...if there are "fins" on the bottom it IS a Limited Slip. If the bottom is smooth it is not a Limited Skip....being an SXT 3.6 it is probably NOT limited slip, but you should verify that (I'm not gonna be responsible....lol)

You do....but mine isn't limited slip...you can tell by the differential housing

You may want to do a bit of research before making such a comment....not ALL RTs have LSD. 68185924AG is the part number for the differential in a 2017 Charger RT (my car)...note the lack of "fins" on the bottom of the housing...open diff. 68427796aa is the part number for the differential in the 2017 Charger SCAT...this one has the "fins"...Limited Slip....quick and easy way to identify which differential is which

The fins don't have anything to do with gear ratio...just whether limited slip or not
