The power and AV cords are long like that because back then the idea was that you would sit the console in the middle of the room, instead of right next to the TV, like we're all used to. So short controller cables, longer power cables.

i just plug it into the antenna in the TV then press autotune it will even save the channel for me

What if your tv dont have coax plug on your tv. Can you just use a rca to hdmi converter?

Get an old VCR, plug it in the coax through the VCR, get an AV to HDMI converter and you should be good
