Good tips but I consider it a no-go to use DLC-weapons for the original game, the original game was not designed for that so I feel like I am cheating and not earning the S-rank. So I will do it with boomerang and 8-spread, I guess. This is the last boss which I need to get a S-rank for before the last 4 flying bosses.

wait this video actually saved my life, i was s ranking every boss until this boss and i nearly gave up and looks at every other tutorial but they SUCKED and this was definetly the best. though i did use ms chalice, the only s rank i have left now is dice. i kept on getting 3 minutes with phantom express and down to one life, cuz i could beat it, i just couldnt get the requirements. but now i just did a no hit and 1:46. thanks. now time for dice (i already did devil)

The Phantom Express is the easiest boss in the game. I beat it under 4 tries on my first playthrough of Cuphead.

Hmm, I never thought about doing Howling Ace's, but Cala Maria sadly doesn't have many tricks that you can do to make her easier tbh, or the tricks themselves are already difficult as it is, like how you can technically dodge the petrification attack while using Smoke Dash during her last phase, but it's quite difficult to consistently do that tbh. I'll try to make a guide, but I don't know if I'll have enough to say about her. We'll see!

The next best weapons to use without DLC is Roundabout to replace Converge and for the great EX shot and Spread to deal a lot of damage. With this though, the pumpkins could prove to be a bit difficult, but you could still try to apply the tricks I mentioned in the video.

I Used The Heart Ring,I Only Didn’t Use Ms.Chalice Because It Is Impossible to Get To The Third Phase That Way. You Don’t Actually Need Heart Ring,Just Stay As Cuphead. Spread is definitely good if you want to replace Crackshot, just be careful of the Flying Pumpkins as Crackshot was the easy way to deal with them guaranteed. I would recommend using Converge in order to take out the Pumpkins since it pieces enemies.
