Ms T You will learn! (My daughter is not mixed her father and I are black) I just learned how to box braid my 10 year olds hair in box braids a few months ago because as she got older the styles got more expensive at the salon. I watched several videos and finally bought some pre-stretched braiding hair. I had to make it work for me, but I braided her hair for the 3rd time a few days ago and she said this was my best try. Every time it gets easier and easier.

Hearing stories from friends about sitting for 8hrs in the stylist’s chair, I always thought you had to be an absolute genius magician to do black hair well. I’m not a hair stylist, but I’m on a journey for personal reasons to learn how to style all textures, thicknesses, and lengths of hair, and box braids is the last leg of my journey. Thanks to this beauty queen, I’m feeling confident I can do these on someone.

Love this video! They look great! I’m literally in the middle of braiding my hair myself so you taught me something new about the gripping technique! Thank you! Just a tip for you to avoid your hair sticking out. As you are braiding down, once you are maybe a few inches before where your hair would normally start to stick out, apply your gel, wax whatever you used at your roots, braid down a little, add some more gel, braid down some more, and keep adding it until you are past where your hair ends. I promise you your hair will not stick out anymore!!!

I’ve watched so many videos on “DIY box braids” and yours is literally the only one that helped me to understand how to hold the sectioned hair, and grip the root. ❤️❤️

I avoided quarantine nails by ordering my own drill to remove my gel polish. It was so easy. I'm gonna try this braid method.

WoW love them. I have never wore them, just a few times when I was little. Now I'm 24 and suddenly really wanna do them since I'm really good at braiding and doing stuff to my hair with my hands and I'm also really patient. I'm a mixed kid, AfroLatina-Asian and spanish (from Spain) so I don't really know if it's okay for me to wear them since it's beautiful honorable culture behind. In my Heart It feels right so I'll buy hair to box braid mine. Thanks for this video it's super helpful💛

i’ve never seen this technique but it’s genius. i usually separate my natural hair in 2 parts & use the braid hair for the third strand but this makes so much more sense & flows seamlessly. thank you so much for this video
