Thanks for this video Jakub, just what I wanted. I have now created a written 'workflow' chart for myself that I plan on using with all my photo edits in Luminar Neo. As an 85-year-old, I am hoping this will assist my aging memory, and speed up my editing skills, as now thanks to you, I have a sequenced list of basic procedures by my side that I can refer to when carrying out my edits.

Hi Jakub Excellent video as usual. One thing I'm struggling with is finding out why the masking option isn't available in the Develop option when editing a RAW photo. I can see that it's present when using some of the other options but not in Develop RAW itself. This means that all the adjustments are applied universally. If, say, I just wanted to increase the exposure on the main dome, I can't do it. I've tried saving as a non-RAW jpeg and then seeing if I cam do it but still can't. As masking i such a powerful tool to edit the bits of a photo you want, why isn't it available please?
@CleverPhotographer10 ай бұрын
Hello! Thank you for your question. I understand your concern about the masking feature not being available with the Develop RAW tool. This is because the initial changes made to the RAW file are meant to be applied globally, meaning they affect the entire image. However, if you want to apply local edits, you can close the Develop RAW tool and use another tool, such as Details or Structure AI. Once you use another tool, the Develop RAW tool will disappear and you will be able to see the traditional Develop tool, which allows you to use masking as needed. I hope this helps!

Great short and concise tutorial on how to use the basic features in Luminar Neo. However, when you were using the formula to determine sharpness I noticed that you created a halo effect around the spire as you moved the slider towards 80. It seems to me that it began to appear around the sixty mark.
@CleverPhotographer6 ай бұрын
Thank you for reaching out. The (100) formula works more as a guide and as an initial setting. It can be adjusted depending on your image.

Outstanding breakdown! Thank you for sharing! Do you know why half-way through your presentation the Raw icon disappeared?
@CleverPhotographer Жыл бұрын
Hi Todd the RAW icon disappear when you move out of the RAW tools. It is available for the initial development, but then it goes into the Edits tab. This is same for all the RAW tools in the application. You can go back and edit them, but once you start to apply additional effects the image isn't RAW anymore.

Patiently waiting for in depth portrait, beauty shot, Headshot editing from you guys with luminar Neo on different skin types. Also congratulations on being an official partner of Skylum and now that your presets can be arranged just like the skylum ones.

Hi Ricky, don't worry, we haven't forgotten, but it looks like it will arrive later in November. I am away in Morocco for two weeks at the beginning of the month, and Skylum will release four of their new extensions, so that will keep me busy for the start of the month. Thank you very much for your kind words on the presets.

I have Luminar Neo 1.6.2 & when in develop RAW I do not have the Camera Profiles between Adobe Standard & Camera Monochrome, as they appear on your video. I just see ..... Add Custom DCP & Add DCP from DNG. What do the letters mean & how do I get the Camera Profiles please?
@CleverPhotographer Жыл бұрын
Hi Philip... thank you for your message. The input color profile or DCP stands for "DNG camera profile". The input color profile is what makes a camera's colors look they way they do when you open a photo, before you make any tweaks. The reason why you see the Adobe Standard etc is that my RAW files are in DNG format and I have other Adobe products installed on my computer. To get the same profiles you can download and install simple free tool from Adobe. I have a video tutorial covering that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKWupZh-Yq2cn7M

Hi!, I spent sometime following you and learning about Luminar Neo, so I want to buy it but I have a doubt I hope you can answer: Does Luminar Neo support Apple ProRAW? I already wrote to Skylum but nobody answers me. I hope you can explain me =)
@CleverPhotographer Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your question. Yes, Skylum recently updated the software with this feature and Luminar NEO now does support Apple ProRAW. If you going to get the app, make sure you use your discount code, so you get a better deal CPNEO10 at skylum.evyy.net/c/1450774/1314256/3255

Why doesn’t my CR3 files show up in develop raw?
@CleverPhotographer Жыл бұрын
I am not sure, Rick... try to reset the edit and see if it won't show. You can also try to use one of my sample files to see if any RAW file shows with Develop RAW.

do you guys know why my raw image showing different white balance when entering edit panel? usually the image get warmer WB than what i preview on the camera monitor or the catalog preview
@CleverPhotographer Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your question. The reason why the images changes as it enters the Edit module is that when you looking at it in the Catalog, you are seeing the JPEG preview often created by the camera or the application itself. Once you move it to Edit Panel, it shows the full RAW file.

I always edit batches in Lightroom, it's simply impossible individually processing thousands of raw files like that. How can I edit batches in Luminar?
@CleverPhotographer9 ай бұрын
To be honest, Grant, if you have access to both Luminar and Lightroom, I would suggest using them for more complex tasks. However, if you prefer to use NEO only, then I have a simple tutorial on batch processing available. You can find it at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYuQYWStoa-Beac.

@@CleverPhotographer My LR license has expired so I was evaluating various other software. Luminar was actually one of the worst, slow, memory hog, crashing, and not even getting basics right. It's funny because I have the fastest gaming PC you can get for money. The Darktable came closest to be usable, but still too many quirks and holes. I'm now done evaluating and paid for LR subscription. It's really sad that there is literally NO software that got even basics right. Adobe has nothing to be afraid of, the competitors don't even begin to understand what the users require.
