Have you ever used an embroidery loop on crochet or knitting? Or does this stretch out the stitches?

Do you mean an broidery hoop? I haven't used one but I think it would definitely work. Although to stop the fabric from stretching it would be a good idea to use a backing of some sort. There's some that dissolves in water, so it keeps the structure while you embroider but then disappears later one! Pretty cool!
