I owe you a MILLION thank you’s!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 It took me a little while, but I was able to do it. Now everybody in the office is calling me MacGyvHER😂. I did have to reopen it and clean the sensor completely with a little Lysol (then I went on and just cleaned the entire unit with it, inside and out, hoping I wasn’t ruining anything 😬), because I was still getting the change waste container message after the first time. So, I advise anyone who does this not to half-step on that part, because it wasn’t fun having to remove my new tape that I sealed really nicely the first time! Again, thank you! I was not trying to have to wait 3-5 days before our new container arrived. This thing really is like new now, and I didn’t get a dot of ink on myself because you prepared us with such a good set-up to begin with.❤

This GREAT!! THANK. Y O U ! ! ! ! I thought I had one sitting around with the spare toner cartridges and spare photoreceptor drums, but NO! I did not. A N D Xerox says they are on back order AND they have to idea when they will be in. YIKES.

I emptied this for c400 (I was never notified that it needed changing but I had it out) ever since I did this now I'm prompted that this cartridge needs to be replaced. Can I get this message to disappear without replacing this?

How do you get the printer to recognize that it's a "new" waste toner container? It's still telling me to replace it.

Did you clean the little plastic piece as seen at 5:29 ? That's how the Xerox sensor checks if the waste toner is full or not.

You're missing a step after emptying the tone the machine still indicates the waste toner container is still full need to reset somehow!

Hey! Thanks for your message. Sounds like you missed a step in the video and I can guess which one it is. You might have skipped/forgotten to clean the plastic clearish rectangle (probably some technical term for this) that's shown around the 6:00 minute mark in the video above. If it's clear, then your sensor inside the Xerox might be dirty.

This is not recommended. I have a major account that has caused severe damage not doing this correctly. The auger can come lose causing waste toner to back up all through the machine. Last one I did cost the customer almost $1800 to fix. It's not covered under the agreement if this is done.

Hey! Thanks for sharing. Yep, this is NOT recommended, if you are on an active service agreement with Xerox. A customers active service agreement requires backup supplies to be maintained onsite. This is a educational video that can sometimes be a helpful suggestion to individuals that are looking for immediate emergency help with their waste toner container. This is by no means something any individually should be attempting on a regular basis either, because the fumes could be dangerous with prolonged unventilated exposure. Also, since we are on the topic, this video is not intended to be used for the recycling of plastic, please make sure to throw it away as instructed by your service provider. Unless you want to save the planet....then contact us recycling Xerox supplies. We like trees. They make paper. Let's plant more trees!!
