Let me show you a quick, simple way to set up and enable iMessage on your iPhone.
First, unlock your iPhone and tap on the Settings icon to open the Settings menu.
Scroll down and find "Messages," then tap on it.
In the Messages menu, locate the iMessage option with an on-off slider. If the slider is to the right and green, iMessage is already enabled. If it’s gray, tap the slider to turn it green and activate iMessage.
To configure how you send and receive iMessages, tap "Send & Receive." Here, you can choose which phone number and/or email address you want to use for iMessages.
Keep in mind that for iMessage to work, everyone in the conversation needs to have iMessage enabled. If someone you’re messaging doesn’t have an Apple device or hasn’t enabled iMessage, your messages will be sent as SMS texts, and the text bubbles will appear green instead of blue.
With iMessage enabled, you'll benefit from features like end-to-end encryption and the ability to send messages anywhere in the world using just Wi-Fi.
And that's how you set up and enable iMessage on your iPhone.
