I have a Charge 5, it's probably a later build with the firmware update, it doesn't have LFM, but I found a solution where I can listen to my downloaded music at high volumes with good bass response... First I install the JBL Portable App and turn the bass up to the max, but leave the other 2 at medium.. Then I simply reformat my music with 200% volume using Format Factory... Now I listen to my reformatted music at 50% volume on my charge 5, the highs sound just as loud as if it were playing the unformatted music at 100%% volume, but the bass is still there, it doesn't drop off because at 50% volume, I haven't passed the threshold where the jbl firmware automatically prevents bass from increasing as the volume is increased.. It bumps like crazy, crystal clear sound, with very good bass..❤❤❤

Don't play your jbl's in low frequency mode cause even if its the original speaker, it can't handle its own power and boom ✨

It is not a lfm it is a debug mode and it can damage the speaker.

Actually all the jbl speakers I have had have come with “debug mode” on and it has never damaged any of my speakers and I’ve had them for long time and most the time play 70% volume and up

That mode you're using is a debug mode made for JBL to diagnose any issues with it. Listening to music with debug mode active can potentially cause damage

on my speaker the LFM mode why can't it be turned on? (JBL charge 5) 2nd opinion: Other replied that for the low frequency I had to go into the bluetooth settings and switch from stereo to mono, but it didn't work.

I checked with the jbl support and they said that low frequency mode is not available on this model.

Hello there, I just bought the JBL Charge 5 and hear the bass is too strong. I use it with PC (Windows). Is it possible to change (lower the bass) it? 🤫 I do not plan to use it with phone. I see people using the equalizer on the phone, would it change the sound on PC if I changed it in the app? 🙂 (It is funny how you HAVE to have a phone even if you do not want to use it with it, I did not know it before buying) Thank you for the help. 😉

Base is fine I’ve had mine for over a year and half now even bought 2 more and I have 6 other JBL’s. Base is great in here. But keep in mind these speakers are not meant for movies/tv shows/etc. music only tbh. You CAN use them for other stuff but I wouldn’t recommend it.

There ia something else you can do. Press the mimus putton and pause button for around 10-15 sec. Then one light that indicates battery will change colour. I tried thia and i noticed a boost on bass. Try it and tell me.
