Glad I stumbled across this. I’m 100% new and still trying to figure out basic operations. Couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t able to cut on bare aluminum or the stainless dog tag but I could cut clean through the 3mm plywood. I appreciate it

Yes the spray will help a ton. Just make sure you use high power and low speed to insure the spray reacts to the laser heat.

Is the cold galvanized compound so that the engraving shows up better?

Yes, it lets the engraving images be a darker shade of black.

I followed your video step by step and my engraving turned out really light. I did use acetone to remove the galvanized compound. What did I do wrong?

Make sure power is all the way up and speed is on 1-3 (very slow). Depending on the type of metal you may have to do 2 passes.

Surface burn and reaction to the spray, it’s very durable and lasts for a long time. Make sure power is at 100% and slow speed.

Hey Cole. How did u get your speed to be in inches. Ours only shows mm/sec. We can't get our speed down to .7 Thanks jamie

That was with an old update to where you could choose inch instead of mm. If you choose the stainless steel settings it will work the same. Stainless steel is usually high power and very low speed. Just remember not to get your cold galvanize coating to thick, because your engraving will look brown instead of black.

@@jamieriker165 try 8-10mm speed it’s gotta be really slow. Lines per cm needs to be increased if you have a lot of small/fine detail.

I have tried everything including your method to engrave on a Zippo lighter and it does absolutely nothing! I'm ready to pull my hair out. I really wanted to engrave this for my friend but I'm ready to toss the idea.
