Hi Kayla. Even though I have a Maker I still watched this video for any tip you may have ( I watched your other dog tag video as well)! I see you used an off brand engraving blade. Have you used any off brand blades for your Maker? I’d love to be able to use a cheaper alternative to the Premium Cricut brand cutting blades. Thanks!

I don't know about Kayla but I have the maker and I use the off-brand blade. the machine does not recognize the off-brand blade when you use the engrave setting so I use the basic cut setting. For acrylics, I usually use the outdoor vinyl material setting. it works great for engraving with an off-brand blade. one more tip on this. before you set up the cut do a simple template and put your design on the template by bringing it forward on the template and slicing it then cut the sliced design. it will engrave nicer.

I love this! and I have the maker machine and I use this tool rather than the Cricut brand. I noticed the machine does not recognize the bladed because it's an off-brand so I need to change my material settings. but it works fine. i love how you showed the measurements and how to use the shapes as a guide. thank you so much.

No matter what I try I can never line it up properly lol.i even bring the shape on the mat and try a aling my name then hide the shape, but. Still I get mix and match so one maybe at one end and when I make another it may be at the end lol guess I got to keep trying lol

When I engrave a round acrylic .. it doesn't move but when I engrave it doesn't center it and it goes off .. what am I doing wrong?

How did you know I was just wondering how to do this? I want to engraved my dogs’ names on tags. They already have a QR code tag in case they get lost so I don’t need to engrave a whole lot on a dog tag.

I thought a dog tag was to attach to the dog’s leash - when I saw you attach a long chain, I gathered that dog tag was a general name???

"Dog tags" are used for many purposes. Some are just for fun. Some military use dog tags as identifiers (🙏) I don't see dog tags used on dogs anymore- usually the tags on dog collars are heart shaped😊

Dog tag is an informal but common term for a specific type of identification tag worn by military personnel.
