I completely agree with this. I understand that some games are competitive but sometimes even games that aren't competitive are made competitive because some people just want to sweat it out. you blame the streamers? They didn't create the games they're streaming. I love the whole goal of this video, getting people to enjoy games again, and although you may have the right concept of why games are so life draining today, you are blaming the wrong people. All game development companies are after a huge player base with high revenue. When revenue is the inspiration behind a game, they will always maximize where there is profit. If you check game revenue charts, the most competitive games are always on top with a huge player base and high revenue. Games like minecraft are still VERY popular, but they don't have the highest revenue because the game doesn't psychologically prompt you to pay money or spend ridiculous amounts of your time invested into it, you play as you please and anyone who owns the game won't be likely to spend more money unless they subscribe to realms, which is again not likely due to people being able to port forward their own servers for friends or just join some public domain like hivemc or whatnot. The games that prompt you to spend more time and invest more are either very competitive games where only training and spending time can get you to the higher end of the skill gap, or very grindy games where being the best isn't the exact goal, it's more about the grind and reaching that end game of grind where you feel accomplished for completing the game, but technically you'd be one of the best if you have completed a game that takes a lot of work to 100%. These types of games also share a huge thing in common: micro transactions, to add to the experience like vanity customizations or for those grind games even speed up the process. These purchases don't need to be made, but because of the design of the game and the amount of time and effort they require, people become psychologically invested in the game, obsessed. Fortnite is free, but because of how many people are invested in the game, those microtransactions are purchased HEAVILY, even though they are just vanity and don't provide any advantage in-game. Or even mobile games like candy crush. Very grindy game, takes a long time to get far and be considered "top of the leaderboard" in how accomplished you are. I don't remember where I read this, but candy crush I heard made something about 20 billion or so, because of how invested people become in the grind. Do streamers take blame for promoting the game? Sure you can make an argument for it, but in their defense they're only doing that because of the game's popularity, otherwise they'd stream what they want to be playing, but what if there isn't as much viewership for that type of content? What they're doing is a job at the end of the day no matter how silly the concept.

All I'm doing is just telling you that you're just describing what a person's ego does to them, basically everyone who plays competitive games like Ninja or Jynxzi give props to themselves about their successes because that's the satisfying part of a competitive game, it's how it was intended to be. Even before video games existed, people have this same behavior in sports since they also are competitive, would you blame television for the coverage of violent sports like American football/rugby, or would you blame the sport for being made that way? That's all my point is, it's unfair to blame humans for being human, so let's point our fingers in the right direction, I think I've said it quite kindly. edit: either way a lot of humans are competitive by nature and they enjoy it, why else do these types of games and sports become so popular? People love competition and the satisfaction of coming out on top. Not everyone, but enough for these games to be high grossing.

One style of thumbnail I’ve seen that works well is “Channel mascot getting annoyed/harrassed/surrounded by mascots from games played” (Caddicarus does those quite well) You are allowed to tell me to bugger off too 😂
