Nice one! The tape-measure tip is great. In future try getting your ledge’n’braced gates constructed so that the diagonal braces always fall down to the hinge side. The diagonal braces are suppose to distribute the weight of the gate down into those hinges. Other than that, spot on mate!

When your screwing the wooden and concrete posts together at the top for extra support how do you screw through the concrete posts do you drill a hole firstly with a drill bit so post doesn't crack ect? Thanks josh.

Hi josh, that’s exactly how we do it. We have the two posts together and use a 6.5mm drill bit to pre drill the holes and then use concrete screws for that extra support. It makes sure the gate doesn’t move which is always a bonus!

It shouldn't crack as its all re inforced within the concrete moulding structure itself, unless your very unlucky & it does crack 😒 timber into the post - size 75x75mm or 100mm x 100mm, i use 6mmx100mm wood screws with a 6mm penny washer to help spread the load

Don't get that about wanting no one to be able to climb the rails. Surely if a thief wants to climb over they would be easy able to. And when the thief as got all your belongings you're making it easier to escape with your goods by providing rails on the inside 🤷‍♂️
