Suppose upon increasing with minus lens , the target or the letters in the px 's best VA becomes smaller or seems farther but much clearer than the lesser minus., which do you prefer?..is it still applicable the rule maximum plus and minimum minus

instead of putting plus and minus sph lens in px eyes i would say do ret and see the movement of the reflex. if you move the ret to left and the reflex follows you then patient is hyperope and if you move you ret to left and see the reflex is moving in opposite direction then patient is myope. i think this technique is quick and easy

It depends on the patient's preference, and you are right, the patient always prefers minus spherical, and you can take the DuoChrome test to verify the best vision sphere.
