Note that you can, in fact, split an imported object in VCrave desktop. VCrave desktop allows you to make duplicates of the one object you already imported. Put each copy in its own layer, and apply a clip to that model layer. Not as elegant, but it works

Thank you, I am glad you liked it! There are multiple occasions when you may need to do this but a common one would be if you were making a multi-piece wall art that would allow you to cut small sections on a smaller CNC machine.
