How to exchange the flex cable in AF-s DX Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G

I just show how one can exchange the flex cable in AF-s DX Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G.
It's not that hard to do, just take care of the flex cable from the A/M, VR switch board, and of course the flex cable from the mount to the circuit board.
I have no idea where to buy spare parts, but just look at the internet

Hi there and thanks a lot for the great video! Do we need to change the whole part (together with the plastic piece with the connectors) or can we just replace the flex cable itself? I checked on the internet, flex cable + the plastic part of it cost 50+ euros and do not want to spend that much money on 18-55 lens. Thanks in advance for your response!

Dear Mike I'm trying to remove the bayonet from some old lenses, however the screws seems jammed. I don't want to strip them, what substance can I use to help loosen them?

Dear Mike, thank you very much for your videos. Before anything, sorry fot my english. I have a question about this lens. I can saw several times where the focus not working. The front ring (focus) dont turn when you try focus, but if you help it with the fingers to twist this ring, so after that the lens works properly, but if you leave it quiet for a long time (4 or more hours), the problem comes back. Have you ever had this problem before? I tried to clean the ultrasonic motor sometimes, but never have good results. Can you tell me some tips? Have you a good day. Best regards Daniel

What is the purpose of the small wire connecting the lens body to the bayonet mount? Mine was recently severed and I am not sure what the consequences are?

It's a GND (Ground is minus) lead wire to the FPC.

@@sagcoelho Yes. You can do the whole thing from the front part. Remove the focus barrel (front). Then remove another barrel (held by screws and plastic pieces). Do not lose the plastic pieces, you need to re attach them or the lens may not be able to focus correctly. Finally, unscrew the final lens on the front and you will get access to the aperture assembly.
