The way Makin looks at the end is how I feel after a 20 second rally 😅

I really like the shorter format. A few points in a brief video is easier to understand and focus on than a long list of important points to remember and work with.

Thanks for the feedback. They're also a fair bit easier for me to make (relative to the long form videos), so I'll do my best to keep them coming at a good cadence! All the best, - Ahad

THATS SAME AS ALL RACKETS SPORTS....THE 4 CORNERS.....HOWEVER, WITH SQUASH ALOT MORE DIFFIULT NOW TO DO A GREAT LOB TO DEAD CORNERS..........BALL TOO HOT & EASIER TO RETRIEVE THAN THEY WERE 40 YEARS AGO.........THE RACKET DESIGN HAS MADE THE GAME ALOT MORE PHYSICAL

Great rally and excellent explanation of what is happening. Is pushing off the opponent allowed? I find when an opponent pushes off me it's extremely it's annoying?
@ARProformance
@ARProformance Жыл бұрын
Hi Anthony, deliberately pushing off is definitely not okay. Most of the time, the players do it subconsciously because they may start going in one direction and instinctively push off when changing directions. If it isn't flagrant no one really says anything, although I certainly agree that it can be annoying! All the best, - Ahad

I'm pretty sure it is allowed, within reason. And if you don't like it, man up and stand your ground harder.

To be honest Joe not bad at all in this rally ! I would say ….both exhaust but Farag just catched the chance

Joe was great in this rally. He made Farag do lots of work in short spurts. Farag made Joe move around a little bit more, and used the subtle hold more often. By the end Joe looked really worn out. Epic rally by both of them! - Ahad

Farag is around 18kg lighter, while having extremely long levers. This isn't particularly a rocket science level breakdown my guy. It's like saying "how to outrun your opponent if you're Eliud Kipchoge". What I want to know is, how would Farag fare vs. a similar build opponent?
@ARProformance
@ARProformance Жыл бұрын
You're definitely right about the difference in body type and weight. What's fantastic to see is that Farag has figured out the optimal playing style given his frame etc., which is not always easy to do. Lots of players remain confused about how to play. The goal of the video is to highlight what Farag does well, how he does it, and the impact it has on others. If Farag played someone of a similar build, it would come down to the other player's ability to volley, awareness on court etc. It comes down to who has developed the most layers in their game. Who can execute more effectively and consistently, who is most aware and mentally dialed in on that day, who has the slight physical edge, who can adapt more effectively to conditions and style of play on the day, etc. A multitude of factors determine who will win, not just their weight and body type. I hope this helps clarify things. All the best, - Ahad

@@ARProformance most definitely. I just think the title "how to exhaust your opponent" is a bit misleading. I think Ali Farag is an incredibly talented squash player, but he's not exactly winning a game of attrition because of his squash, it's far more down to the fact that he weights 35 to 40 pounds less. If you watch his games vs Tarek Momen or Gawad, (especially when those 2 opponents were younger ), that style of play did not "exhaust" them, partly because they were at parity in terms of fitness.

@@admyre its not really that misleading, farag has employed the same strategy over the last 4 tournaments, with great success. against elias for a most recent example, but coll and makin similarly. it's not a fitness level thing, those guys are fitness monsters. that's what the video is expressly pointing out, the reasons behind farag's incredible unexpected run of form (which most enthusiasts are speculating about atm), which seems almost on another level than before his injury (though 4 tourneys maybe not enough to tell, but we'll see next season) yes he's more physically efficient than them, but that's too simplistic, whereas the video seems to point more to the fact that he's tactically more on point as well with his "rush volleying opponents, holding the t and center far longer, super relaxed and elastic, constant flicks and holds, and reading the game impeccably well" style, which combined with a willingness to commit to long rallies to purposefully burn out opponents, has recently paid significant dividends through the 3rd-5th games. not rocket science level, it wasn't trying to be, but worth noting and sharing nonetheless as an explanation for his recent incredible success imo.
