How to extend Britax ISOFIX arms that are locked/jammed

Sometimes you may find that your Britax car seat with PivotLink ISOFIX locks, and it won't extend out of the base for you to install your seat. Never fear - it is an easy fix! In this video, I show you how to release it to get it working normally again.

Thank you!!! There are two small locking levers left and right, and the left one skipped for me. It got over the bar. i pushed it in, with a screwdriver and then your trick worked. Thanks to you, I knew where to look so super thanks! 😁

For the Britax M i-size the ISOFIX arms sort of just move in a 45 degree angle and the bar can't be pushed back any further. Found a different solution for that though. The strap is attached inside to a plastic bar/lever with a metal rod inside it, by pulling that plastic bar/lever while simultaneously pulling the strap, the arms extend as they should.

If that hasn’t worked, you have a 2 year warranty on your seat. I would go back to your retailer and they can process a warranty claim for you if the seat was purchased in the last 2 years. If you are outside your warranty, you may be able to send your seat to britax for inspection and repair 😊

You'll need to contact Britax directly, there is a way to remove the isofix manually.

Hi, you should be able to reach in and pull the lever manually - the grey strap is for convenience and isn’t essential 😊
