Hello, So a couple benefits with the extension would be a better offset on the ball joint for hopping. Also, the extension prevents the wheels from “the butterfly” look when fully locked up. Also the A-Arms are “kicked” out further from the frame which provides more room for lift and moves the arm further away from the cylinder. Hope that answers your question. What up Eric! That’s a great question. In my opinion, you want as many amps as your comfortable running. I run my welder maxed out on the amps. A good rule of thumb to remember is when you’re running hot you’re running fast! So your wire feed speed needs to match what kind of heat you’re putting out. Think of it like a car with a clutch, the clutch and the gas pedal have to work together, a welder and it’s settings are no different. Play around with the settings on your welder and see how fast you can run your wire speed and how hot you can run. Once you’re comfortable doing that, then you’ll know. I hope that helps answer your question, just find that sweet spot. Thanks for watching bro.

I made them. Add your extension pieces and then use the extended arm as your template for the other plates. It’s basically just tracing the arm after it’s extended. Similar to how I did the frame wrap. Watch those videos for more explanation.

How are you going to do the finish on the upper and lower control arms are you going to paint , powder coat or Chrome them?

The main reason is to upgrade to a four bolt style ball joint as opposed to the stock three bolt type ball joint. Also, I wanted to use the Napa heavy duty ball joints.

Can you use flux core to weld frames or do you have use gas

Hey bro, That’s a great question! The short answer is yes you could use flux core. Although it is not highly recommended. For the cleanest possible penetrating weld, I would recommend using a mig machine with a 75/25 mix or a 80/20 mix for weld gas. Also, experience with different weld process’s can produce different outcomes. I would always recommend a mig machine with gas, if the user has the budget. Hope that helps.
