A fantastic gem that I designed. I call it the "EGYPTIAN EYE". In the world gems, this is a unique design. The center of the gem points vertically and is shaped like a cats pupil. If you're a gem cutter you should be able to find all the information in this video to facet this beautiful gem. This a very easy design to cut. Best Wishes Cliff.

I have very much missed your videos, but patiently wait for each one. You never disappoint. I think this is your best design yet in this style. The fire is amazing.

Beautiful work, Cliff! Imagine taking a trip through time to Ancient Egypt and showing this beauty at the court of the pharaoh, they would have thought you were at least an envoy of the Gods!

Good to see Jaws has finally stopped sneaking the odd sly cigarette behind the lunch shed and is finally applying himself to his Egyptian studies. If he keeps this up, I see a bright future for the lad.

Jaws still eats me out of house and home though. Amazing how much an old dog can eat. Jaws will be 14 years old this Christmas.

Hi Cliff, it's fantastic to watch your new video! Even Jaws is in the main role of a decoder. A beautiful gem. I see you polished it on the Gemmasta machine, it seems to me that it is stronger and more robustly built than your first machine, I really like it. Thank you very much for the video. Best regards Predrag

@@VintageTimeGems I'd love to! It is small but may be able to do a simple cut. I don't know why but I haven't joined my local mineral group yet, they even offer lapidary!

Hello Cliff, what an interesting videos you make. This one especially. Like a mini movie. Choice of music is brilliant too, just like the design of the stone. I have never done any faceting so far but i read quite a bit about it and watching KZbin. Many of your videos make the theory from the book much more clear. This year i will start a capuchon cours with my local lapidary club as a first step. After that i can start with the faceting course. Thanks once again for your great videos. Wishing you a great new year from The Netherlands.

I’ve watched your videos off and on over the last couple of years. I think that learning to facet gems would be a lot of fun! I’m curious if you ever facet gems by request for customers. I’m in the United States, but I would be interested in getting pricing for what you would charge to do one of these, or maybe three or four of these for a paying customer. If that’s something you do, it would probably be a little ways into the future before I could do it, so I’m just gathering info right now. Either way, I’ve saved this video to my list of gems that I would like to try and facet myself if I ever end up purchasing the required equipment. Work takes all my attention, and I forget about gem faceting until one of your videos pops up in my feed again and I get excited about trying it again. Thanks!

Great work! I have a question. By the sound on the video (for example, 6:13) you can tell that the disk is not entirely flat/perpendicular. Does it affect the result? Presumably that should make the angles a little off so the corners will not meet so neatly.

Hola. Yo tengo una máquina que le pasa lo mismo, pero no afecta hasta el momento los ángulos y vértices entre facetas. En ciertos casos tener en cuenta si es que está muy suelto el disco

You can shoot detailed pre-polishing and main polishing videos. How much pressure should we apply to the stone? please make a very detailed video
