Hold down both power and volume up together until the menu comes up. then use the volume buttons to move up and down and use the power button (if you are running ICS 4.0.x you tap the power button to select instead of touching home down below) to select the menu items. Hopes this helps.

Thanks for the video! One comment - In order to select something from the boot menu, you actually have to hit the lock button, not the home button.

great vid Sprint support was closed no longer normal 24by7. this video helped me there was problems with my phone an app i guess caused the battery to constantly loose is charge even when i bought a new one it woudl also delete other apps and some other weird things AVG said no viruses. so i wanted to wipe everything out and start fresh Since sprint was unavail. you have helped tremedously

hi, i saw ur video and its very informative. i need to ask u one question id appreciate it if u could take time out and reply ....my problem is that i have a samsung s2 galaxy and somehow, it doesnt turn on fully. ive been to the shop where i bought it from and they advised me to go to samsung customer services, there would be a cost for me to pay and recover data if need be. what happens is that it starts and shows samsung logo then my network provider logo, and does this back and forth. HELP!!

If it doesn't have service before you dropped it, it's not going to have service after you reset it. You have to take it back to the sprint store, and ask for a replacement.

My galaxy s2 is just over the 12 month warranty period. Recently it just keep turning on and off continuously, and finally it wouldn't turn on. Would factory reset solve the problem? And if I do a re-set, will all my contacts be deleted. since I don't have a sd card in the phone.

What happened? Yesterday, my T-Mobile S2 turned off then during reboot, on the load bar, it shuts off and keeps making a vibrate motion every 2 seconds. Peace @_* I couldn't find any info on anything online.

I can get to the System Recovery screen and am able to highlight factory reset but the phone doesn't respond to my hitting the power button or home to select the function. Any other hacks to help?

If the home button does not work try the lock/power button thats what I did since my home button was not doing the job.
