When using the gradient tool, the first stroke either lightens or blends with the other image. However, it stops continuing the image after the second or third strokes. However, for some unfathomable reason, it started over as the image's initial stroke. any ideas?

Don't know what I may be doing wrong but followed your instructions to the letter and it doesn't work. I'm clicking and holding after selecting the image I want to superimpose on top of another one but after moving it to the other background image nothing happens. Are you holding another key down when you select and hold to do the transfer?

Great video! But how are you able to use the strokes of the gradient tool multiple times from 3:26? It only works one time for me and if I made a new gradient it forgets the other one. How do you use this multiple times? I hope some one can help. Also it looks like the blend mode is normal.

If it is not working for you this is why. Make sure you have selected the layer (click on where it say layer, next to the dog), not the image. This is the key. Now you can simply paint off with a brush or use a gradient tool. If you paint it, black (now I have to go listen to the song) you make it transparent. If you paint white, you bring back the image.

I had the same issue ... but than I changed the gradient from black to transparant and fiddle around with it and voila ... you can add the gradient in stead of make a new gradient ... hope this helps ... grtz another newbee :)

For anyone who still confused about this I found what works for me is once you've applied the fade right click on the vector masks itself in the layer section and click apply layer mask. You should be able to open up another layer mask and fade it again

Eachtime i drag the mouse to make that gradient, the previous gradient clears. I mean you made almost 6 gradients with different angles and intensities in this mask but i can draw just 1 gradient. Do you hold any key on the keyboard? or any other solution please :'(((

i see youre able to add a bunch of different gradients to your dog, one after another. When i try this, creating one gradient from one directioin and another from the other side, my second gradient cancels out the first, making me only able to gradient one side at a time.
