How To Farm Cinder Shards In Stardew Valley

In the lastest stardew vallet 1.5 Update, there is now a brand new type of currency, and it is called Cinder Shards. You are going to need tons of cinder shards so I will try and give you my best method to farm cinder shards in the game.

I think stingrays produce dragon's tooth , so u can use them in a pond, and also, wear the burglar's ring on a lucky day and kill as much lava lurks :> you'll get plenty in a couple volcano dungeon runs

If you use the burglar ring you get functionally double the chance if getting a dragons tooth

I went double lucky buff on a max luck day and shoot them with iridium ore and a master slingshot. It took me some days, but one day I got a dragon skeleton with like 3-4 dragon tooth around, and extra 2-3 from killing those lava stalkers. In 3 days you can get enough for an obelisk (I also have burglar ring and lucky ring)

Usually my friends and I go through the volcano together both with burgler and luck rings and hit the same enemies and rocks together doubling the rewards from each. We've made around 100-120 average each day

I have still only found like 85 walnuts! 😭 60 Cinder Shards in one run sounds amazing. The most I've gotten in a single run through so far is 25. I'll definitely have to try stacking luck for more shards in one run. Thanks for the tips!

Great tip on the fish ponds! I wish you could get a fish that produced cinder shards earlier in the game. It would be neat if you could start a little stock pile before you ever even get to the island!

in the menu, go to the tab with the controller and scroll all the way down. click screenshot and you will take a screenshot of the whole level not just what’s on your immediate screen. it’s very useful.

Here's a tip when you enter the mines or volcano on whatever floor take a screenshot of the floor and look at it you can see the whole floor and see where the nodes you want are as well as other things on the floor

Every time I visit Ginger Island, I go into the volcano entrance and kill the dragon for his teeth. Rarely, the entrance will also have a large cluster of cinder shard nodes just there for the taking.

@@cristalreynoso8883 The dragons that swim around in the lava and shoot fire at you. Apparently the random seed of your game determines what monsters spawn on that first floor and it's the same every day.

one thing...... bombs, a lot of them. everytime i do a cinder shard run i always bomb the heck out of the volcano mines, I've experimented on this and even without killing anything. I've managed to yeild up to 34-52 shards.

@@unoriginalguy5031 im on year ten and save alot of my products in chests and the only notable items ive been able to have multiple stacks of is like seeds, coffee beans, diamonds, iridium ore (from statue of perfection), i dont think stacks of cynder is realistic at all without mods

Every time I visit my farm on Ginger Island I do a couple of floors in the volcano cave and use the return septum at 1.30. So basically every 2-3 days. I still haven’t gotten the burglar ring or lucky ring so using the Slime Charmer + iridium and Vampire +Iridium for now.

@@pastabrain7082 The only thing that increases how much you get per node is daily luck - luck level (buffs) have no bearing on it and neither does anything else. Burglar ring is just a second roll of the dice, so if you're really unlucky you could still get nothing if both rolls are bad, but if both rolls are good, you'll get double the usual loot.

Cinder is a special tile (Vector2) and how many of these tiles spawn is based on daily luck and luck level (buffs/rings). How many shards you get out of each cinder node is based on daily luck but nothing else.

I had 60 in a single run without any luck buffs etc. maybe you can consider all those optinal so people dont think that their runs will end up with like 50% less lot when its actuall close to urs!

Stingrays are easy to catch? I don't think so. I just caught my first spastic little ray a few days ago (I started playing again back in April)! Also, if I want to make it to level 10, there really isn't enough time to go wandering around looking for cinder shard nodes. Regardless, this is good information on obtaining cinder shards.

you only need to make it to level 10 once, and then unlock the door/gate in bottom left corner of level 10. then you have a door from level 1 to the forge at any time. after that, you can spend your time getting cindershards because you can access the forge easily with the door, and don’t have pressure to get all the way to 10.

what's the best ring combo?

Depends on style preference. You wanna Tank and Heal? Slime Charmer / Shellfish Ring + Ring of Yoba / Vampire. You ignore damage for 5sec and the odd increase the lower your health is, you kill slimes as Medkits since you're immune to them and the Shellfish Ring add 5+ Defense. You wanna Shotgun Rush? Ruby / Slime + Ruby / Shellfish. Or Treasure Hunter: Luck / Burglar Ring + Luck / Iridium Band. Luck Rings stack on two separate ring combos but not together as one, same for Burglar plus Burglar doesn't stack with a 2nd one. Having an Iridium Band counts as three when combo with another ring because of magnet, glow and attack dam %. If you use Iridium Band with other rings to form combos, i feel like you wouldn't benefit from stronger more specialized combos. Iridium Bands are like a J.o.a.T combo which isn't bad by any means. However, i like more armor and healing while i run dungeons and any benefit that keeps me alive longer while farming is a fantastic setup. I'm hoping i can get enough cinder shards to make my combos to test out their effectiveness. These are my assumptions based on the wiki research, im just now forging my Gal Hammer with 2 Ruby and 1 Emerald for the highest damage without sacrificing speed. So hopefully someone finds this useful

Iron farming is pretty easy, Enter the mines on floor 40 then take the ladder to floor 41 get all of the iron and then exit the mines and enter on floor 40 again. It's seems way to simple to be effective but it really works

Well it may be because of your setup and when you go. The best way to farm cinder shards is to go on a good luck day as that is the only thing that affects how many shards come out of each node. Luck buffs only really affect how many of these nodes spawn, but daily luck also affects this too - having both helps but is not necessary. Wearing the burglar ring and killing magma sprites is also crucial to farming cinder shards - neither luck nor daily luck affect how many shards you get per kill. However, daily luck and luck buffs affect how many magma sprites spawn, but can also increase other enemy counts as well. Your best setup would be "burglar ring + luck ring" and "iridium band + luck ring" - then eat whatever food and drink buffs that give you luck. You'll find you will get closer to 40 - 60 shards per run.
