I guess I can do the same with the hylian tunic? And it seems the champion's leather has the highest defense available in the game at 32... ok, I will farm the damn thing

Do the “Recovering the hero’s sword” quest but don’t grab the master sword just yet so you’ll have the dragon’s location always :)

And now at the endgame, we know how important this dragon really is, then farming the best stuff available... like I said originally, this kinda clashes with the narrative... the infamous "ludonarrative dissonance", such an arrogant way of depicting this kind of stuff, but it does happen in this game. Link's whole existence is to protect Zelda, but instead, here we are. By the way, I do think this dragon should had a different music, just to give more hints about her status in the story

Eh, I wouldn't really consider it attacking her. Dragon spikes can be collected without attacking them, which implies that the dragons slowly shed naturally, though maybe only the spikes remain on the dragon due to gravity. The dragons also don't react at all to being farmed. I imagine them not glowing temporarily is them focusing on regenerating the part they need, which implies they can recover from any tiny loss of body parts within minutes, or hours in-universe, and be good as new. I also doubt the goddess statues would ask you to collect horns from the ancient dragons if it actually hurt them.

You can get the fang without jumping off. Stand at the top of the nose/mouth and shoot with an arrow. The fang shows up top and you can just pick it up.

Side note: The Tunic of Memories (botw champions tunic) needs these same pieces to upgrade so you might want to get extra while doing the champion leathers

Any piece that starts at 4 will be the strongest in the game. Level 4 pieces go to 28 defense. The champions leather is the only piece that goes to 32.

Pro tip: If your waiting on the dragon to regenerate, but you have controller drift, go to the camera app and switch to self portrait and time still passes by, but you won’t move

Be wary of blood moons while waiting for it to recharge. After the blood moon cutscene the game will teleport you to the last piece of ground you touched, which depending on how long you've been farming for could teleport you to the opposite side of the map.

Another tip: If you wait by a fire until noon the dragon will always be next to the Ulri Mountain tower so that might be the quickest way to get on top of it.

That's not how Dragons work in this one. They're on a real time loop so waiting/sleeping doesn't move them, they'll just be in the same position. Light Dragons is a 2 hour real time loop, you can skip time as much as you like but if you stay in one place you're going to be waiting up to a maximum of 2 hours for it to show up.

FYI the dragon rocks don't appear on the spikes that are being the third pair of legs, so no point in searching for them of the tail. This is true for all dragons.

The deku tree gives you an approximate location of the light dragon at all times after that, but I’m trying to upgrade my champions tunic to one star before I start that quest, tried the counter clockwise bit but no luck, I’ll give it a shot again soon.

Quick correction: if you have the Tunic of Memories, you'll need an extra one of each material to fully upgrade that one, so 3 of each.

I did this with all 4 dragons. If you get bored during the 10 minute wait, just sit back, stand on the tip of a dragon's mouth and take in the scenery. It never disappoints.

Tip for Light Dragon area but spoilers: If you go to the depths right under the middle of Korok forest, you can kill Gloom Hands and Phantom Ganon for the Master Sword. The Master Sword is marked on the Light Dragon and the marker moves, so you can know exactly where the Light Dragon is.

fun fact. if you are on 1.1.1 or previous, you can fuse an dragon part to a sword, zuggle the sword and then reload the game to get more dragon parts so you do not have to wait and you will have the sword with the dragon part, making it slightly more convenient and faster

Best time to farm light dragon parts is after you cleanse the Deku Tree cause he marks the Master Sword, so you have a moving marker showing her location as long as you don’t retrieve the sword

The light dragon will travel on a path over the tears. Check the sky every now and then, I've ran into it near death mountain, gerudo highlands and from lanayru. Teleport to the nearest Skyview tower and fly over and voila

If you're mid air and kill an Aerocuda you still get their eyes and wings once they drop a distance below you. So do you really have to chase down the parts as they fall?

The parts of the light dragon fused to weapons heal you if you take damage...they heal you eveytime you hit the eneny. You get a quarter heart back everytime you get a it.

The dragon is really high but it will lower after you save the great deku tree beating the hands isn’t hard if you have bomb arrows and phantom gannons attacks are extremely easy to dodge

All I've got from it is the spikes. Hitting it does nothing at all I'm trying to get scales but it doesn't even make a noise when I swing at it I've tried every spike on its back and 3 times against gold scales between spikes not even registering hits, tried all weapons and bow

Quiet easy if you disable the internet on your switch. I have a life so being able to do the easy paraglider dupe still to this day is nice. No game breaking bugs yet. 10 shrines away from completing that, and duping everything thing from the top of my house! I'll let the switch taste the internet when I'm done with TotK lol
