HOW TO: Fast Easy Aluminum Boat Rivet Repair w. JB WELD or GORILLA TAPE - On the Water!!! New or old, if your aluminum boat has rivets and you use it proper, you will eventually get rivet leaks. I like to fish, and I like to solve any issues as quick as possible so I can fish. If you notice a leaking rivet, and you don't have time to slap a rivet in - there are solutions you can do while you are fishing. Gorilla Tape works wonders. It will most certainly last until you can get a fresh rivet to stop that leak. Gorilla Tape will hold for a few years. JB Weld is a great choice to stop a leaking rivet. There is a JB Weld you can use before you fish, while you are in the water, and when you get back. JB weld can stop a leak for decades.

I fixed a rusted out oil pan on a boat engine with a bunch of JB weld and a tall boy I cut up. She ran all summer just fine!

Hi Joseph! I was asked the other day what I do and was easy to work in the day so it worked out great. I rarely pop rivets in the seals just last after I put it on when the day is over so i don't have to do a rivet before I fish (in fishing season of course, winter be the exception!!!). Kind how I get gas ALWAYS after fishing, never before, if I get gas before I figure that cuts in my fishing time! thats why the tube of the 5min is full! Thanks always Joseph!

Hi Jerry, That was a great video. JB products are the best. I always have some JB Weld and Gorilla Tape in my tool room. I also like Plumbers Goop for an adhesive and sealer. It stays flexible. The Goop is great to repair the soles of my shoes and sneakers. Thanks for the info. Take care, Mickey

Hi Mickey! Figure one could fix anything with the JB weld and gorilla tape, anything else you need has to be laying around and those 2 do the rest! I ordered a tube of the goop just now to try I like how it sounds! Thanks for sharing that mickey I like the flexible part!

Hi Jerry, The Plumbers Goop dries over night. It's not good for quick repairs but it dries like a stiff rubber. Sand the surface and wipe with alcohol and it will be fine. Did you ever try Crazy Glue and baking soda ? It dries instantly and it's hard as a rock. There are many vidoes on KZbin on how to use it. Take care, Mickey

Hi Jimmy thanks, I seen that stuff always been tempted to try it. I guess the reason is specificity and size of the packaging I have not. I am sure it works great but the jb weld is in small packaging and have a variety as per time need that I can pack all three in a bag and still weighs less then a 1/4 of a pound for a LONG time fix before a hard fix that may last just as long.
