Amen 🙏🏿🙏🏿 I grew up in the COC I have never heard about fasting. I know of fasting but never explain this way...always thought it was about food...when I was deployed to Iraq 3 times I would see them praying 🙏🏿 and fasting from sun up to sun down.

I got revelation on fasting earlier this year. It used to be very difficult for me. It got to the point where I was asking God to help me resist the temptation to eat. Then I thought, "if not eating is not a challenge/sacrifice, what is the benefit?" I realized that the real benefit is spending time in prayer and God's word. I was focusing on not eating.

Another good scripture that shows the power of fasting and prayer is Matthew 17:21! The only way that the boy in this passage could have the demon cast out of him was through fasting and prayer. Fasting and prayer gives us a supernatural strength to break those toxic cycles that have plagued our lives. Thank you for this lesson!!
