I just got my first 2 tons of compressed orchard grass alfalfa mix hay, that is 65-68 lbs per bale. I rapped my knuckles on it and it is as hard as concrete, then I wondered how the heck do I feed this stuff to my horses. Thank you for this video. Now I know to cut the bale open at least 12 hours before I feed. It does smell so sweet and good!

This farmer knows his stuff. Often cowboys are sold inferior hay. It is important to buy high grad horse quality Hay. Feeding your horse quality weed free hay is a must for healthy horses and cattle.

I got 2 bales of the alfalfa for my house and I was let it sit there and when I gave it to my horse the next morning and I came back it was literal dust and I had to get new bales of normal alfalfa

Why is it full of dirt, weeds, and brown? It looks nothing like this nice green bale of hay here or the pic on the website

This hay is SO dusty with short strands. It’s green and smells ok but isn’t worth the money
