So exciting! Love to hear about other fun ways people feed their dogs to provide different eating experiences. If you have a chance to try any of the tips in the video, what did your dogs think?

I like using toys but my dog needs to eat without restrictions as well. He requires more calories than the avg dog. I think it’s important to recognize the potential frustration feeding solely in this way can cause your dog.

Do you recommend feeding the whole meal from feeding toys? I worry about owners who do not recognize levels of frustration in their dogs. The dog is hungry, they give them a food toy that is too difficult (glad you pointed out start with difficulty level 1), they get frustrated, their cortisol levels go up, their digestive juices are now active with no food to digest. So wondering if it might be helpful to feed a portion of their food (by bowl or free scattering) and then put the rest in food dispensing toys? Your thoughts?

@ingridn1 💯 agree with you! Can definitely start with some of the meal even after meal time and slowly increase the amount of food used in food toys/ interactive feeders as required. ❤ Thank you for sharing this super important message.

That’s how I do it. I feel I was really hungry and sat at a restaurant to eat and they served me a puzzle I would be next level frustrated. I feed my dog his regular meals (raw), and I use freeze dried food for training treats. This also makes up for food I put in snuffle mats and puzzles.
