it‘s fine gravel (1-2mm) from the company dennerle called crystal quartz. color is roe brown and plants are crytocoryne aponogetifolia 🌿

freshwatertanks I heard that it ought to be organic. I think boiling the veg may be good to help remove pesticides if not organic. I liked how soft you got the veggies, they seem to be able to break it down easier, although the tank may get more cloudy

Hey I have a tank with 2 bristlenose plecos, 4 guppies and 6 neon tetras and am wondering how often do i need to feed the plecos using this method since i'm not sure if they are even getting any of the flakes being bottom feeders?

i would get them some pleco tabs so you are sure they get food. i‘m sure they rarely get some flakes…

You can easily do 12 hrs of zucchini in tank, the pleco would love it

My rubber lipped pleco does NOT like light but I’m gonna try zucchini with the fork and then gradually try to get him to enjoy some light although he is no nocturnal by nature.

i'm sure he will! i also uploaded a shorter version on instagram and lot's of people told me that blanching is not really needed. so i tried it and she loves it too. so i'm not blanching the zucchini anymore and feed it raw. i just cut out the seeds. they can make a mess...

it's really easy. male bristlenose plecos have much longer bristles (whiskers) and are also bigger than females. it's more difficult to tell the difference with younger ones (at least for me) as the bristles come with age.

hi there. it‘s either a cryptocoryne aponogetifolia or cryptocoryne usteriana. they are both pretty similar. the shop where i bought them didn‘t know the exact name 🙄
