If you're happy with just going with it, awesome, but (and this does cost about 120 dollars, but it will be worth it...) you can get microdermabrasion done. I would explain it but you can just look it up. XD I've been through the same thing so I understand. :3

As someone who's battled with skin issues, this was a brave thing for you to go make-up free on camera - well done!! 👏😘 I have pretty bad eczema and dryness and I react to a lot of products, when it flares up my eyes suffer the most! I find French pharmacy brands (Avene, Bioderma, La Roche Possy, Vichey etc.), really help target and calm down my skins issues. They're a little bit pricier than regular high-street products but definitely worth it! I also love Kiehl's de-stress moisturiser.

When I was around 12, pimples started poppin' out of nowhere. Then bad acne, white heads, etc. It wasn't actually THAT BAD, compared to other people. I consider myself as lucky, because I only got breakouts on my forehead, and then a couple of white/black heads on my nose. Although it's not much of a problem, it really hit me bad. I did not expect that to happen. My skin before was really nice, now I have a lot people telling me what to do with my effing face., people asking me what the hell did I do to ruin my face. Apparently what caused the breakouts were my bangs, stress, dehydration, bad diet, and sleep deprivation. In which, I couldn't control. Since I couldn't do anything about my lifestyle, from home remedies and the usual products I used to cure acne, etc., I switched on to actual meds. Like pills and stuff. And, it worked. At 14, my face was once again clear, but not perfect. I did my usual routine, started trying to have a healthy lifestyle, and everything went fine. Until now, at 15, I started having acne again. Not only on my forehead, but also on my cheeks as well. I went back on the pills again, somehow it didn't work that well compared to the first time I took it. Then again, it was also caused by stress, sleep deprivation, and all of those stuff. Basically, in my case, my acne problem is in a cycle. A continuous loop. An acne pops up, I make it disappear, then I do my bad lifestyle again, then it pops up, I make it disappear, then I go back to my bad lifestyle again. Bad lifestyle does not only involve my physical health, but also my mental and emotional health. It's already difficult to maintain a healthy diet. What more when there's people pressuring you into meeting their standards of beauty, while telling you, "You look ugly"? Thank you so much for this video. It inspired me to actually love my skin and acne. :) To all my fellow acne-faced friends out there, you're beautiful! Have confidence. Slay! ;D

I cried a bit when Kirby was talking about taking off her makeup and being more than your face. It's so important to remember that, and super hard to at the same time. I have cystic acne, and am on medication for it because it's super severe (like the entire bottom half of my face was covered in huge cysts that hurt and all I wanted to do was stay home and cry) Before I found medication that worked for me, I started using Kiehls skincare. Honestly I started using it because I was walking in Nordstrom one day, and the Kiehls counter guy came over and very sweetly told me his sister had bad cystic acne too (until that guy I didn't even know there was a name for what was happening to my face) and he wanted to give me some samples of products that had helped her. He gave me way more that the amount of samples he was supposed to and I ended up returning and getting all the products he had sent me home with. The entire Rare Earth line and the Blue Herbal Cleansing gel. I used it all exactly how he told me too and my breakouts healed up so much so fast. Now that I'm on medication for it, I still use the Blue Herbal Cleansing Gel, the Rare Earth Scrub Toner and Mask, but I don't use the moisturizer anymore. Because I have a pill I take as well as a topical cream I use a heavy moisturizer from First Aid Beauty (Ultra Repair Cream) and I only do the mask once a week instead of once every other week. And just because one dermatologist says you have to go on Acutane, does not mean you have to to fix your acne. I found the amazing derm I see now thanks to the skincare specialist in sephora recommending her to me, and I adore her, she understands my fear of needles, and while I still have to get regular blood draws this medication only requires them once every year instead of once every 3 months.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this video! So much truth in everything you had to stay! No one understands the hold acne can have over you. I had acne on and off since my teenage years as well. What really worked for me was Rodan + Fields Unblemish line. This is created by the same doctors as Proactiv and is rated the #1 acne brand in the United States. My skin has never looked or felt better! I haven't had a breakout in months and haven't bought concealer in almost a year. I am comfortable walking out of the house with nothing but moisturizer with SPF on and I can honestly say that wasn't the case before. I tried so many different products and I was always scared to try something new because I wasn't sure how my face would react. I thought I was going to be on products for acne prone skin for life. I had originally joined the business to make extra income and for the biggest discount, but then the holidays and stress hit and my face was a HOT MESS! I figure since I was already broken out, what did I have to lose with trying the products. So I did and have no regrets. All the products come with a 60 day empty bottle money back guarantee so it can be returned for a full refund if the outcome is not something to be desired. Let me know if you want more information! I cannot express how happy I have been since my face cleared up; I feel so much more confident with myself too!

why are so many people triggered at this and are attacking her? Like ok maybe she doesn't have bad acne but she is trying to put a motivational video out there...and she did mention in the video how the lighting in the video didn't really allow the redness in her face to show up, it's just like when you take a picture, depending on the lighting and angle of the camera, you look way better, and at the end of the day why are people sad that she doesn't have acne?!!!?? Why does it matter, why should we wish that on anyone, WHY does not seeing her with acne make you feel any worse about having it? she is a person like any other who struggles with things like this and maybe not to a huge degree like some other people, but she knows what it can feel like, and I am pretty sure this video was not made to make anyone feel bad, it was made to help insecure people have the confidence to walk out and feel good about themselves, and on a real note I honestly do feel way better about myself and I admire her for having the confidence to put out content like this, even when she knows she could get lots of backlash from it. I tip my hat to her.

Something that really helped me was changing my pillow cover every other night (you just flip it to the other side the second day). There's a lot of left over bacteria from your face and hair product that can get all over your pillow at night. And totally agree with using less products! I use cetaphil face wash and moisturizer which works amazing. Also, when using acne medicine, a pharmacist told me a while back that you should actually put a super thin layer (kinda like moisturizer) all over your face. This way, you're treating your acne without drying out your face and preventing new breakouts! Sorry this was so long, but these are a few things that really helped me and I hope they could help someone else out :) Thanks for these videos Kirby! Love them :)

continued.. also recommended I started using bare minerals makeup. So I bought the makeup and it covered my skin flawlessly. I was so happy with it. Summer of eighth grade I started to get scars on my cheeks, this was terrible because I had never really broken out on my cheeks before. My dermatologist continued to prescribe products that just didn't work. I went on 2 different pills and nothing cleared my skin. I would get so emotional because I felt like I had tried everything. I would always avid junk foods and I would never touch my face. I tried numerous products as well. Nothing worked for me. I would constantly block my face with my hands when I had a pimple. When you have acne, you feel as if your beauty is hidden. Pictures on flash always come out disgusting because of these stupid spots on your face. It sucks. This year I decided to go on accutane. I have been on it for almost a month and I am so happy with the results. I am so excited for it to really kick in.

Thank you so much for this video ! I'm 17 years old, and since november, I've acne breakout because of stress. I never had acne before so it was really hard for me because my skin was great and now I have scars on my face and my shoulders. I'm not wearing tank tops anymore and even when I'm doing grossery on sunday I need to put some makeup when I go out. To fight this and hide this acne, I start using more foundation and it get worst. I tried to deal with it, but for 3 months I had pimples on my face, so I start feeling more stressed about people's vision about me and it became a never ending circle. But, today, I went to school without any makeup on, and... it felt so good ! 😃 Nobody was looking at my like : "woah ! She's ugly", in contrary, all my friend told me : "You look great without makeup, I have the impression you're smiling even more than before!" I think I'm going to start going to school more often without makeup, because it's so satisfying to feel confident with acne.

Something I've earned throughout my acne journey is that there are two different main ingredients to fight acne. One being what Kirbie mentioned, salicylic acid, and the other being benzoyl peroxide. I used to think salicylic acid was the only way to go, but turns out, my skin responds much better to benzoyl peroxide. The peroxide is gentler than the acid overall, so my sensitive skin likes it. If one doesn't fair well for you, maybe try the other!! Every product I use has the peroxide as opposed to the acid now. My cleanser which doubles as a mask, my spot treatment cream I use every night, and my daily moisturizer has it. I always use an organic witch hazel toner to help out my pores and get every last bit of dirt off, and occasionally use a Micellar water to go around my eyes to remove makeup residue. Routines are key as well!!! Everyone is different! Good luck!

I am 14 years old and I've had acne since I was 11 years old and it has only gotten worse as the years went by. It started with miner acne just around my t-zone. This was a big deal at the time considering most of my friends had barely even experienced a bad blemish. My mom bought me cover up to wear to school ( keep in mind this is 6th grade and I was 11) and I remember I felt so insecure because when I had sleepover with my friends I would secretly bring my cover up and wake up extra early to put it on because I was embarrassed. I would cry so much because I felt like I was the only one. Then I started usin exposed skincare, which really helped for a while. It is this kit with 5 steps morning and night, so it was quite a hassle. I brought my skincare kit to sleepaway camp over the summer and I would always be the first one in the bathroom and the last one to get out. In seventh grade I went to the dermatologist and she gave me a prescription (did not work). My dermatologist.. tbc

I've suffered with pretty bad acne since I was probably 8 or 9 and have been ever since. Knowing what it's like, this was a brave video to make. I can barely leave the house without makeup let alone make a video for the (theoretic) world to see. As of now the acne is lighting up, though I can barely tell from the dark and deep scarring. Acne is a terrible part in life that very few lucky people don't go through. Whether it's 1 pimple or 100, it can damage your self esteem. To anyone who has acne; don't let others bring you down and don't let people who've never dealt with acne try and tell you to "just wash your face" because usually it's a lot more complicated than that. All in all, it's something that we have to deal with and possibly seek help with. Try not to be self conscious of it and just see yourself as the beautiful person inside. Acne does not make you ugly, it does not make you any less of a person ❤️

+Ashley Fizzy This is all so true! Your face is what people see the most. Pimples are such an unfortunate thing and the only ones who truly understand are the ones who have had to deal with it. I can honestly say I can relate! Also I'm partnered with the same doctors who created Proactiv and we have products for acne scars. Let me know if you're interested.

I've had acne for a year (going on 2) and its very hard with my self esteem, And its very difficult when I try to to be confident. where is my acne? 1. My chin 2. alittle on my side forehead 3. sometimes near my mouth But everything aside I like myself as a human, Skin isn't everything it can be personality, eyes, nose, ect. And its not whats not on the outside, its on the inside that matters most ❤

best solution for acne/breackouts is HONEY. No matter in which way you use it. In combination with sugar as a peeling or just honey itself as a mask ( leave on for 10-15 minutes )! your skin will be so soft an the breackouts will heal much faster because honey is antibacterial. I love this !!

It came out of nowhere and now I find myself missing out on opportunities because of the insecurities I face when dealing with me skin, and it’s consistent, every single day, I avoid walking past mirrors so that I don’t have to remind myself what I look like, it just makes me feel depressed, it doesn’t help all of the pressure that teenage girls face, they have to look a certain way and to go out I have to cover it, I physically can’t leave without putting it on but when doing that, I’m making it worse, there’s no end!:(

Thank you soo much this as helped my confidence soo much.well at the age of 7 started getting spots and now at the age of 13 I have acne which I just I use a special cream I get from the doctors to help it but it never has really bothered me that much.well I say that but there's always people that always say you would be pretty without spots or you look gross and many more horrible things but over the years I have accepted that I have acne and it may seem horrible and gross but its who I am and I am beautiful with or without acne.so if your going though acne just remember you don't have to cover it up cause you already are beautiful with or with itxx

I've struggled with acne since I was around 10/11 (I'm 15 now) and after using TONS of different products, the best thing that works for me is the herbalism cleanser from lush, the mask of magnanimity face mask from lush, coal face cleanser from lush, tea tree toner from lush, (everything from lush is amazing 😂) persa 10 gel from clean and clean, & makeup wipes from the brand simple

Be careful with coconut oil! It's actually a comedogenic oil which means it can clog pores. I would say definitely you can use it for eyelashes and brows to help strengthen and grow them but don't use it as a moisturizer or spot treatment especially if you have oily/combination acne prone skin!!

Acne is definitely not just an adolescent phase. I'm 26 now and still dealing with fairly consistent breakouts. I've been slowly shifting things around in my life to see what the different causes could be. So far, beyond simply making sure I'm taking good care of my skin (the outside stuff) I've adjusted my diet--because healthier in usually means healthier out! So far it's definitely improved. I'm Chinese and have gone the holistic herbal tea and medicine route with a family physician, but now I'm also considering going to a dermatologist to see what other options might be available for me. I've been doing some reading on Accutane. Anyone else have experience with medicines for acne? Thanks!
@icyrosemt
@icyrosemt 8 жыл бұрын
+Alison L. Before you start Accutane, you should try Rodan + Fields Unblemish line. It's rated the #1 acne brand in the United States now. I had acne on and off my entire life and ever since using these products haven't had a breakout in months! I don't even buy concealer anymore and in the past I could not imagine NOT having my concealer because I was so self conscious about my acne. Now I am able to leave the house without worrying how bad my skin looks. Let me know if you want more information. These products come with a 60 day empty bottle money back guarantee, so if you aren't seeing a difference you can return everything for a full refund. Trust me, I can totally relate to what you are going through! Acne is terrible!

I hate acne so much, it makes me want to cry everyday. It gotten worst when I moved to europe and noticed that my skin is much better when it's spring and summer. I went to a dermatologist and she told me that maybe i should try to less or not eat/drink dairy products and she gave me some cleanser + spot treatment and some pills. It dried my pimples and now i still have on my chin ( because I can't just stop having cheesecake & pizza lol) and some scarring on my forehead and right cheeks

I hate it when people only have like 5 or four pimples and than all the sudden they "relate" to people like me who have like 30 pimples on they're face and they look like a whole pepperoni pizza. I already had it bad enough from 4th to 7th (now) and now it's getting even WORSE because I have pinworms.

I have been dealing with acne since the beginning of 4th grade (9 years old) it has gotten way worse. It is all over my forehead, eyebrows, cheeks and chin now. It started out on my chin. It wasn't bad. Once 5th grade rolled around everything went down hill. It got to this point and a few years later it got a bit better because of my skin product I use. I don't wear makeup (occasionally eyeliner and mascara). I use a skin product that dries out my skin. It dries it out for the first week and then your acne starts disappearing. It has helped a whole lot. It isn't clear but it used to be a lot worse. It also cuts down on redness. Anyways. If you read this thank you. The information is jumbled all over the place so I'm sorry about that.
