i also feel that every "succes" i make is really a bigger succes for me because i am adult ballet dancer like for me is way more harder to learn the steps to improve my flexibility than for somebody who is 8... so to everyone just a reminder, be strong and proud no matter what your actual level in anything is because is the best it can be in this moment with your ability and effort and you are doing great❤

I completely resonate with your philosophy on succes❣️ I returned to ballet 3 years ago, at the suggestion of my teen daughter, 35 years after leaving it when I was 13 (because I felt so UNsuccessful at it at that age!) and shortly thereafter I came across you and a couple of other ballet KZbinrs who provide such helpful and inspirational online lessons and insights into the adult ballet world, and that revived in me an immense love for ballet that I hadn’t felt since I was about 11 years old! So I absolutely feel successful in my return to this lovely art form, even on days when my arthritis and vertigo are saying “no”, I accept my limitations and just do the best I can physically, and I find that mentally I feel even more joyous in what I can accomplish despite those limitations! I’m so happy now and feel very blessed and successful doing what I am able! And you were successful in inspiring me and others, so I want to THANK YOU❣️🤗

Your variation videos certainly support your point about turnout. And they also show that we don't need to be on pointe to dance ballet. Very inspirational.

This was really encouraging! I just starting dancing in 2019 at 28 years old! And I caught on to a lot of things quickly, but the body limitations thing is a big one because I’ve never been very flexible.

I love this video! It gave me so much to think about. You are right; its about what you CAN do, not about what you can't do.

I swear this was absolutely motivating. Now I definitely have no excuse to work more harder with a turn out I got yes there's always improvement but we can still succeed from where we are. Thanks for videos like this. And I want to know like in future vids I had a question about struggles in living a dancer life and how frustrating it is to be dedicated to make room to practice will that be included?
@NatalieDanzaBallet4 жыл бұрын
Hi Melody! Thanks for your lovely comment! I haven’t talked about practice time in this success series of 3 videos but could definitely include it in later videos :)

Me: I feel successful. I know! Both of my teachers: You do it wrong. And this! And that! Oh, gosh!
@NatalieDanzaBallet4 жыл бұрын
You can feel successful for where you are, teachers telling us there is more to do doesn’t take away from the success of where we have got to! Success doesn’t equal perfection 🙏🏽😘

Other peoples SCORN is what worries me. A 50 year old tango dancing=fine. A 50 year old doing ballet of any level incites scorn! It really annoys me!! Its a wrong attitude,and needs sorting out.
@NatalieDanzaBallet4 жыл бұрын
I understand your frustration but it’s really about finding the right teacher. There are so many wonderful and supportive environments for adult ballet dancers now. Don’t waste your time on scornful teachers. Maybe you don’t have that option where you live but there are plenty online! Adult ballet at 50 (and any age) is worthy of celebration! 🥳
