To have clean eggs, give your chickens fresh water everyday. This prevents runny poop from collecting on the feathers around the vent. When they lay eggs and the egg goes through poopy feathers, they get poop on them. When my chickens get poopy but, I sit their rumps in warm water to soak it and then wash it off. You can also trim the feathers from around the vent. This serves a dual purpose in increasing the amount of eggs that will be fertilized and reduce the amount of poop on the eggs. Naturally, you want to keep the area poop free so the hens don't track poop and mud into the nest. Love your show.

Easiest way I’ve found to soak their butts or treat bumble foot is to put the water in a 5 gallon bucket (about 3-4 inches of water), put the chicken in, and put a towel over the top. They usually just lay right down lol.

yep, i give my ladies a trim every other week, because no matter what i do, they always manage to get semi-poopy butts. i've tried giving them baths, but it's too traumatic of an experience for them to do it consistently, so trims will do!

@@gaythugsmatter7029 if you buy eggs from the store, they’re pasteurized, so you don’t have to worry about germs or anything. Even non pasteurized eggs are pretty safe, they actually have good bacteria on them that keep the eggs from going bad/growing bad stuff. Un-pasteurized/washed eggs can actually be kept on the counter un-refrigerated for a couple weeks due to the natural bacteria barrier. Pasteurized/washed eggs have to be kept refrigerated because they’ll go bad much faster. Obviously it’s still a good idea to rinse non pasteurized/washed eggs before you cook with them, but generally eggs are pretty safe as long as your chickens are healthy and kept in a clean environment. Salmonella is only a risk when the chickens are kept in dirty/cramped conditions (hence why mass-produced eggs have to be pasteurized, they’re not kept in ideal conditions, they definitely don’t go around washing chicken butts and trimming feathers in factory egg farms). I hope that made you a little less concerned lol.

I had a few baby roos myself as pets over the years, they grew up with dogs just fine and never harmed each other too much, but what people are saying to you about them is 100% true in the wild they will try to drown dogs and can be especially brutal once they are bigger, it's always something to keep in your mind, these animals come from the wild and are still wild animals at heart, it can happen! Only thing I would be worried about right now is any loose wire on some of those fences, the roo's and probably other animals can get hung up in them, sadly happened to one of my big boys back in the day. They can try to jump the fences (yes even like 8 foot ones..) and can get caught sometimes, just be mindful mate. I love what your doing though and I hope you can sustain the lvl of love and care you show for these guys plus the cost

I got this off Google uncle dad Ben- Kangaroos are not greatly bothered by predators, apart from humans and occasional dingoes. As a defensive tactic, a larger kangaroo will often lead its pursuer into water where, standing submerged to the chest, the kangaroo will attempt to drown the attacker under water. So I think they will only drown a threat to them, not just randomly to a doggo that's super nice to him. Should be fine!

If you wash the sliming coating off you have to put them in the fridge but if you keep it on it can stay fresh outside of the fridge for quite awhile I think

Aussie here, you will be in big trouble with that Roo when he isn't little anymore. Not much scares me quite as much as an aggressive Roo, even the Eastern brown snakes that surround our property (2nd deadliest snake in the world) don't really worry me. When those Roos are fully grown they are massive and built like a brick shithouse, seen one kick a mates car door and leave a hole in it
