The best thing to get you out of street situations is your own two feet, if that fails then martial arts is the second best option
@suleymansahin37707 жыл бұрын
Boxing 2017 boxing helps you because you can fight with effective punches, and your footwork gets you in and out of range. You learn to block and slip the opponent's attacks. Usually in a street they throw wild punches which barely has any effectivity.

if you have the space you can try but sometimes your kick might Glance off the body or off the thigh. If you practice to do it I say go for it but don't try it in the middle of a fight for the first time. And if you don't have space I'd throw a knee instead

Hey Shane! Is learning to fight southpaw and Orthodox a useful skill or a waste of time?
@odette20467 жыл бұрын
Hey Shane! I wanted to ask you for some advice. Im really motivated in start training Muay Thai, but unfortunately there's no gyms dedicated to such art nowhere close in my town! My options are train from home (I know there's a big chance I will start creating bad habits since no one will be there to correct me) and number two: move on to some other sport (wont) *If I start training from home, what can I do to avoid common bad habits? I know already a thing or two about the basics in Muay Thai (how to properly throw punches, footwork, angles, shadow boxing and such) *Do you think I should educate myself first in technique subject and then start with the actual training? *If I cant afford a heavy bag, can I replace it with something else? If you can see this and maybe reply that Would be really cool! thanks and sorry if I misspelled anything :)
@soullight86327 жыл бұрын
Odette you should train at home or get a personal coach if possible. If not then recording yourself always works. Pay attention to where your weight is at, how tilted your hips are and just general positioning and technique. Really work on technique as well, as you don't have someone there to correct you. The best thing about training at home though is that you get to develop your own fighting style without any hindrance from others. And don't worry about a heavy bag, you don't really need one unless you want to condition your bones. Best to get pads and someone to hold them for you
@odette20467 жыл бұрын
SoulLight Well, thanks I think you just made me feel even more excited to start! Oh! And another quick question, if I start training do I need some kind of diet? Since I know Muay Thai and boxing both require lots of energy. Also I didnt knew the heavy bag was not a completely nessesary instrument, knowing this takes a lot of weight outta my back lol. Thanks again! ^-^

@soullight86327 жыл бұрын

@gerardoojeda72717 жыл бұрын
SoulLight kid, shut up. Eric Ross, you need to train hard boy that's the only way to be better than your opponents.
@praisethesun72557 жыл бұрын
Gerardo Ojeda well no shit Sherlock but there is always going to be someone better than you no matter how much you train and soul light is generally right btw. Certain aspects are better paired against others if you can't move as fast as your opponent than you gotta makeup for it with something else
@donkeytwoddle7 жыл бұрын
Try becoming faster. The obvious answer is sometimes obvious for a reason. IF you are really slow it means you are one or more of: too tense, training for muscle size & strength instead of effectiveness(lifting weights in a typical fashion), trying to power-punch all the time or have not quite perfect technique. Two ways to change this / spar lots. You will learn to loosen up, you will notice any flaws in your technique & you will learn power punching doesn't work. You will also learn timing; often what you perceive as speed is actually timing. /Train for speed & precision, strength as well but that is last. If you DO want to gym, do explosive high volume dynamic lifts. All the best. Goodluck.
