how to file a police complaint against harassment on social media in India | my experience

I had posted this on March 15, 2021 on my Instagram page - and since then have received a lot of messages, both saying that it really helped & also requesting to upload it here, as it's easier to access as compared to scrolling through my IG page.

➡️Reach out to any cyber cell in your city - just google it, you will find the address. Go in person and file a complaint with the evidence.

⚠️Don’t let harassers get away, and please stop romanticising stalker behaviour. If someone says ‘stop texting me’ or blocks you, just let it go. If you keep bothering them then next person you meet will be a police officer.

Thank you for making this video. You would think bullying and harassment would be a secluded to kids in a schoolyard but that definitely is not the case. I used to wonder how or why celebrities could get so affected by peoples mean messages/comments but now I know the feeling and it almost felt like i was suffocating in self-grief. Your advice helped me to take action no matter what level or form of harassment it is.

Hey Satyasha, I can totally understand. Went through something similar in 2015 when a stalker showed up outside my workplace in Bangalore and took him to Ashok Nagar police station. And then came the big question FIR or petty case and I had to register a petty case again.

Yes but not social media but by following me everywhere, using anonymous people, stealing things from my home where I'm renting by opening lock when I'm away, using owner and tenants also to act like my family members and my ex husband, my phone is completely hacked and they everything I do in my phone....i told my family members who are reasons for all this problems aroused, but they blocked my numbers and this started with my divorce with my husband about whom I complained in WPS where police is bribed and the similar way they followed me harrassing and made me to take away complaint. Police to get bribe for whole life harrassing me since 1.5 years and they even destroyed my career. This is how the police system is nowadays as they are not taking complaint against them when I approached them
