Could you please clarify this: My employer has already sent my T-4 to CRA, and Wealthsimple and other financial institutions have already sent the respective T-3 and T-5 to CRA, which means CRA already has all the information about my total income for 2023. Am I now supposed to download all the forms from CRA into Wealthsimple Tax and then reupload everything back to CRA through Wealthsimple's tax utility? Isn't a a lot of work and all forms going back and forth unnecessarily especially when CRA already has all the information? It would be awesome if you could throw some light on how this thing works. I know a lot of hard work goes into creating such videos, so thank you so much for this video. 🙂

Thanks to the video, we did it ourselves this year and we are more than happy with the outcome! We even donated some money at the end for the basic service, and it is totally worth it. It's free only for the first two declarations (2 years). Third year you must pay $25+tax for each year. As for the tax return, it's definitely not going to get you the maximum, even for a very simple situation. Fortunately the govt will check it and give you the amounts you didn't ask for.

@MakeThatChange Жыл бұрын
You can ask your employer to prepare an amended slip ideally, with the unit number, but it might take time for them. Overall, if you are completing your return online, you are asked to enter your home address during the process - make sure it's correct in your return - that's the most important part. Addresses can change throughout the year, so it's not too big of a deal if address on the T4 is not accurate, just make sure it's accurate on your return filing! This is not tax advice - we recommend you call CRA to double check though!
