I'm hoping the form is updated about the covid question since all restrictions were ended on April 5. I have been waiting for these restrictions to end before making my first trip to Columbia. I should look up a flight number and attempt to go through the form like you did before I actually book my trip. update - ok, I just found a flight number for 2 days from now and used it to complete the form. when I reached the questionnaire page there was only one question which was about carrying more than $10000 in cash. wow, that was super easy and now my mind is at ease.

Can you clarify when to complete the MIG? I am leaving out of San Francisco CA on a Thursday however I am staying in Panama City Panama for 3 days prior to proceeding onto Colombia on a separate flight . Therefore, it appears completing the MIG prior to leaving the U.S. takes me out of the 72 hour period. Do I wait until I'm ready to leave Panama City to complete the form and if so, do I enter the City of Origin as Panama City and not SF?

So far, very informative. However, i see this video was made 9 months ago. Your remark about "YOU MUST CHECK YES FOR ARE YOU VACCINATED" is wrong according to the US Embassy in Colombia as of May 1, 2022. It reads "As of May 1, 2022, visitors to Colombia ages 18 or older must provide proof of complete vaccination for entry OR a negative COVID test (48 hours in advance of travel for an antigen test or 72 hours in advance of travel for a PCR test). I'm not vaccinated however I obtained a negative status today. I'll be flying out this Sunday. Can anyone verify this?

Hi and thank you for your question. Keep that e-mail as it will be proof that you have registered and you can also show it to the gate agent before you depart (if they ask for it). When you get to Colombia, while going through custom, keep it handy just in case although they probably won't ask for it because as soon as they swipe your passport, it comes up that you completed it. Don't sweat the QR code issue because you're already in their system. You probably will have to show it to the gate agent before you depart for Colombia.

Thanks for your video! I have one question. I am going to Colombia without a visa aiming at staying for less than six months for educational purposes. If I put that I don't have a visa but choose something else than Turism at "Trip reason for entry colombia", let's say educational or study, will the form require a visa to move forward? or it could be denied? I was informed that with my nationality I dont need a visa and could ask for a permission to stay for less than 180 days when entering the country. This is not clear to me.

Thanks for your question but whether you need a visa or not to go to Colombia depends on your nationality (nation issuing your passport). That’s an immigration policy/requirements question. You’ll have to contact the Colombian embassy in your country for visa requirements. As far as the form, it must be completed whether you’re required to have a visa or not and the purpose of the form is for the government to know who’s coming into the country and how many tourists visit Colombia. I hope this answers your question.

PLEASE know that you should use the link to Check Mig that the airline provides. There are MANY websites that sign you up for paid lawyers fees each month or will do the Check Mig for you for a FEE. Most importantly, know that your country (if the US) will be under Estados Unidos, as he mentioned. There is NO United States. You also cannot get on your first flight to go to Colombia without the printed form or the form on your phone. There is also no 800 number to contact Check-Mig, if you have a problem and emailing them is useless. They are not open everyday of the week, either if you call their number in Colombia. Don't depend on your airline (if using American) to help you with the website at the airport. They know nothing about it.

No you did not. Its been like that lately, from what I hear. As long as you submitted it, it will be fine when you get to Colombia. As soon as they swipe your passport, they’ll see it. Actually, they never ask for the QR code. That email is just for your own reference.

Thank you for watching and for your support. The email will include a QR code in the middle of it. It’s also in Spanish. However, just make sure that your email is correct and when completing it, you click submit at the end wait until the next screen. In your email, look in the junk folder if you don’t see a confirmation email it immediately in your inbox. Besides, when you get there, they don’t ask you to see it because as soon as they scan your passport it comes up on their screen. Just make sure your details are correct and take your time while completing it. This is why I suggested doing it at home.

Hello Sadmir. The info you use is Colombia to Madrid. You can complete the form, minimum, at least 72 hours before your flight. When you submit the form, in case you don’t get an email, I suggest you take a picture of the screen when you submit the form. That way you have at least some sort of proof that you submitted the form. Confirmation emails will be sent within minutes.

Relax. You’ll have the opportunity to complete it at the airport before boarding. The airline will see through. Just get to the airport early enough to do it.

What do you need help with specifically? Input your info from Zurich-Bogota. Since the flight from Bogota to Bucaramanga is domestic, you don’t need to complete this form for that flight.

No. London to Bogotá, actually. Once you’re in Colombia and flying within the country, you don’t have to fill this form.

IMHO I would not recommend filling form out this form at the airport especially if your not to tech savvy with your phone. I witnessed alot of people starting to panic because form was not loading correctly probably due to typos, language barrier ect --- You will not get a boarding pass unless this document is in your possession --
