I have made this video to explain the common problems that IMGs have faced in filling out the CREST form. Please read the guidelines and the form before getting it filled out and avoid common mistakes. Otherwise, the forms may be rejected and they will ask you to re-submit which will waste time and cause stress.
A new CREST 2024 form has been uploaded on the recruitment website and it is the only version which will be valid for the Aug 2024 training recruitment round.
CREST is required for CT1/ST1 level training for all the specialities and shows your competency at the level of a foundation year 2 doctor.
Important update for GP applicants:
There will be no extended deadline to submit the CREST for the GP applicants. This is explained in the link below.

Not just GP, all specialities need to submit the form with the application and no extension will be given according to this website

The good news about CREST:
CREST 2024 is much simpler
CREST can be signed by a consultant who is working outside the UK but fulfils the criteria of working with you for 3 months in the last 3.5 years.
Common mistakes IMGs make:
Not filling all the sections on the form.
Forms are not signed properly on every page by the consultant.
All competencies are not ticked properly.
Not using the hospital stamp on the form or submitting a complimentary slip.
Not checking if their UK consultant is on the GMC specialist register
Not submitting the registration document of a consultant if they are submitting the form using their home country certificate

Very much informative, Thanks. If anyone working as a Bank Locum in a same trust same speciality for 10 months continuously (weekly hours are variable) then is it countable to sign it off. The Consultant agreed to sign it off. Please advice.

The date of completion of the form is the day the form is signed. if you are asking for the end date of the job, you can put the date when you are expected to start training.

Hello, hope you are well. Really love your content sir. I have few doubts regarding the end date of my current post as I have to enter this in the training application as well as CREST form. It mentioned in the application, to write the end date as the day before the training commences, but when I try to look for the training commencement date, it is not confirmed yet. 1) What would be wise to put in the application as the end date of my current post? 2) Should I do the same in my CREST form if I'm getting it signed in my current post? (or shall I just put UP TO DATE?) 3) Does the duration after the application closing time count towards the mandatory one year experience after FY1 to apply for training post? Training jobs start from the first wednesday of the Aug you can put the end date of the current post if your contract is ending on a particular date. 24 months rule is explained on the person specification of the training jobs

Dear Sir, I have a query regarding the CREST form verification process. My supervisor, a FCPS consultant, holds a government post with the title "Senior Registrar." His stamp includes: 1. Title: Senior Registrar 2. Name 3. PMDC Registration 4. Hospital Name and Address Although he functions as a consultant, his official post is Senior Registrar. Will his stamp be sufficient for signing my CREST form, or do I require an additional stamp from the hospital administration to authenticate his endorsement? Thank you for clarifying.

Hi I have 7 months post internship experience with GMC registration. Am I eligible to sign the crest form now? Or do I need to check dean's declaration form of 2024? In the beginning of the form it asks for the Applicant GMC Number ..... Is it the registration number that we get after passing both the PLAB exams or the GMC reference number that we get on creating an account on the GMC website?

Thank you Dr Adnan for such an informative and detailed video on this topic. I have a question. I have worked with a consultant in Pakistan and he is qualified from the USA. He later moved to the USA again and is currently working there. So in the Employer section, I will mention Pakistan’s hospital address where I worked under his supervision but in correspondence, he will mention the current USA address and email. Further, he will attach USA specialists’ register evidence. How do you see all this? Will that be accepted? Any suggestion?

Does the principal applicant need to be registered in the regulatory body of their home country besides the consultant?

How else would you work under them for 3 months without registration? For the time you are filling out the form, you would need registration.

Hello.. it was really an informative video. I am an IMG planning to appear in 2nd round of MSRA exam in September with no UK experience. I worked with a consultant here for more than 1 year within last 3 years. Unfortunately he went to another hospital for his work. He is happy to sign the CREST form for me. How do we define a consultant? In india we have post like Professors, associate proffesor, assiant prof in medical college and in tertiary care hospital we just have specialist doctor working under no such named post.

A Consultant is a senior doctor working with post grad qualifications working independently as an expert.

Sir I was told that you should put institutional email of your professor. Like .edu which my university doesn't have. Also who can sign this from home country ? 1) Senior resident 2) Assistant professor 3) Head of department And do they need to belong to any specific department?

Only a consultant-level person can sign the form. The official email address of the institution is not essential.

Follow the instructions on the form, if you are getting it signed from Pakatan, write that on the form
