I believe there is only one tracking device that has audio recording and it has really bad reviews. It is possible he has equipped a mini real time GPS tracker on your car AND has an audio recorder in there as well....

Great question! GPS data loggers do not transmit GPS signals so therefore can't be found with a GPS detector. You would need to manually locate the GPS tracker and remove it.

Your best bet would be to take the vehicle to an audio/alarm type place-- someone who specializes in installations. An auto mechanic isn't going to be the right person for the job at finding a vehicle tracking device. Also consider using a GPS detector to help you locate the hidden GPS tracker !

Apparently some GPS trackers you can end up being charged for removing.. although that case turned around and the person was absolved of any crime in removing it... I would suggest just taking a hammer and smashing it but leaving it there... This way you can't be charged with "theft" if you remove it... Possession is 9/10ths of the law, property found on your property makes you the owner of that found property...

GPS signals can go through plastic so wrapping your car in plastic would not stop a real time GPS tracker from working. However, aluminum foil would block any GPS tracking signals!
