The problem with MSC is time off...Went to school with many of the guys there and that's one of the things they complained about. It's good for overtime pay, but other than that, you need a relief, if not, then you can get extended.

It's not . probably less then $16.50 a hr. Remember there's ot in there so it's more like $14 or $15 hr. If you make $1000 a week u at $9 hr So if you don't work any ot your stuck .

Yes, you need the MMC to work on most ships. The loophole is fishing/charter vessels in places like Alaska where that doesn't matter.

I can’t tell you exactly who I’m working for , but what I can tell you is that the transition was easy & well worth it . But I believe it’s all based on your living situation. If you want to be gone & work for months at a time , go deep sea . If you prefer to be home every week or 2 weeks . The tug route is the way to go .. regardless you can’t go wrong
