For people choosing to hunt this ship, or any ship for that matter, it's a good idea to NOT land your ship on one of the trade post platforms. Doing so takes up another slot for NPC ships to land on. This will allow up to 5 ships to be landed at the trade post at a time, as opposed to 4 ships if you had your ship parked on one of the pads. You can either land near the trade post and jetpack over, or you can land on one of the pads and then use the "summon vehicle" function in the quick menu to move your ship to the ground. I highly recommend doing this as nothing hurts more than seeing the S class ship finally flying in, only for it to turn around and fly off because there's no free spaces for it to land on.

I did that, and all 7 pads had at most 5 ships on them at a time.

@@gbennett58 And you should only get at most 5 ships. The game will leave at least 2 landing pads open at all times, even if one of the pads is taken up by a player. If no player owned ships are on any of the 7 pads, then 5 NPC ships will land at the trading post on every reload.

You won't lose any S class ships if they can't land, they just circle in a holding pattern until a pad opens up :)

I GOT ONE!!! It's an A-Class. At first I passed up on it. I noted the specs . No 'S showed up, didn't take long at all AND probably not in my budget anyway. The weather was HORRIBLE when I was there, DARK all the time and Heat storms. :-) Anyway got one and thanks Jason & Reddit people!

Got one just as i landed at the second trading post! B-class. Waited around for another half an hour. Another two popped up in that time. Managed to get a nice looking s-class for a different ship as well 👍i would suggest waiting for 20 minutes max before moving on to the next outpost. Great vid, thank you

Since you have to wait anyway, you can reload your save every few landing cycles, because when you reload the ship classes are reloading as well and one of the first five ships is gonna be an S class if I remember correctly. That was the trick to get S class ships before they implemented the ship upgrade station.

This was the very first ship to land for me and it was the S Class. By the time I got to the top of the building and looked down, there it was! Very lucky!

I had to go to the space station. Too many people built bases too near the trading posts. no npcs would land there due to some bases having landing pads. Still got an A class after about 10-15 minutes after getting to the space station.

Although it is still the best way to look for ships, they have still seriously nerfed the amount that come down to land. It used to one of my favourite things to do, now I find it annoying. Bring back our ships 🤣🤣

When I get to the trading post, I like to use my terrain manipulator to make a dirt pole high enough to be able to see all the pads at once without rotating my camera, then I make a little dirt canopy over top to protect me from weather

I’m hoping one day you can actually walk around the interior of your ship as well as friends ships, and the freighters NEED to have more default storage slots. Also maybe a space station interior re design?? Needs some colour and more life to it, with such a vast universe it feels like the cross roads where all the species meet is very bare

August 2024 still shows up. Too many bases and no NPC ever landed at Depots. Space Station works. Saw a B and two C's within maybe 15 mins. It shows up around every 5 mins or so from landing. Thanks, good looking Fighter

Like you said, i was one of the lucky ones, it was a blue/black one and it was litterally the fist ship that landed at that trading post. it is a B class with not many slots, but i upgraded it (as i was in creative).

So strange to see this as I've had this ship for ages without realising there was anything all that rare about it. I just spent a little time hunting around for a fighter and this was the one I settled on looks wise. It wasn't even a great loadout or class, but it's not like units and nanites are hard to come by these days to upgrade stuff. It's S class now and nearly maxed for slots. Mine is a different colouring to yours. More red and pretty consistently so across the ship body.

I hate how people build in the ports, like do you have no respect for other players? Save beacons are one thing, but full on bases around a port is just rude. I'm on Xbox and because someone built a base around the port, no ships will come in. Can someone report whoever built here?

Ok just did this... Great Vid as always BTW.. Seems someone has now built on the trade post... (and added more landing pads) which seems to have stopped ships from landing... 🤦‍♂ just stragglers dropped in so I went up to the space station and immediately got a B class, then after about 30 mins an A class.... Then just as I was going to go and do the 50K nanite upgrade to S class.. BOOOM! (to quote your classic expression.. ) an S class just rocked up!!! So thanks a bunch for posting.

Half my ships is from the same Euclid, outlaw planet where I found not one, but 3 trading posts on one same spot. Solar ships, squid ships, long nose fighters, movie-like haulers; come and go nonstop. I was like: WTF? Jackpot! Quickly i built a base next to it (its uploaded).

1) thanks Jason for the video & location 2) to the people adding extra landing pads to the trading posts, you are screwing it up. I've noticed that when this is done, way LESS ships land. Literally like 1 ship every few minutes instead of like 5 every 1 minute. This happens EVERY time I get a ship through one of these youtube videos. What I end up doing is going to a trading post that isn't close to the glyph portal and find way less tampered with trading posts with way MORE ships landing. I get what you guys are trying to do "more pads = more ships" but that is not the case. It ends up bugging it somehow. The landing pads the trading posts come with are enough, no need to add more.

If you want a certain ship really bad, just get the first one you see and grind nanites for the upgrade(s). Takes roughly an hour to farm approx 70k nanites as runaway mold

People have added so many landing ports around this place that it's made it impossible to get this ship at this location anymore, with the orbital pack now out it's best to do this in the Space Station. I was on the planet for over an hour when I finally saw the ship land. Only for it to have landed at another landing port some asshole built near the trading post. I wasn't able to get to it fast enough. You get a much more consistent flow of ships on the Space Station.

Honestly, i feel like hello games should add full cosmetic mods, not just like the freighters the colors but full style changes. Like fully different wings, engines noses cockpit everything with some logical limitations like you can't get fighter bits on a shuttle or hauler nor like the x-wing-like shuttle wing bits on like a fighter for obvious reasons

unfortunately griefers killed this location, placing bases IN and next to the station witch many landing platforms, paticulary hidden under terrain, so npc ships can land but no player ships. So every ship spawning will land somewhere and you have to wait for minutes so even one ship will land on the trading post. Thanks griefers...

I found the same Trading Post initially. There's at least one other trading post on the other side of the planet. Although it has also been built on, it compliments the hunt and doesn't prevent ship landings.

Been here for over an hour. Loaded auto save because I can’t build near the Outpost. There is some asshats base terminal on top of it. Nothing has landed. I think this site has been killed… Update: Go to another planet in the same system and do the same thing. Found an A class one as I landed at a different outpost. ☺️
