At 2:26 "The most important thing (in choosing a tax compliance professional) is that they actually care about you. That they actually have concern for you." Yes! Absolutely! Too many simply want to fit you into a template, a program, or their own pattern of doing things without caring enough to look deeply at your situation and your options. As an older individual and expat, faced with the complexities of cross jurisdictional tax and estate laws and the inconsistencies in how those laws are interpreted, I have sometimes felt that my concerns weren't worth enough revenue to the tax professional to address them with real care.

Most the tax compliance industry wants it this awful. So people are forced to hire them. At greater cost. These people are dead set against humanity. and they do lousy work. Contempt for your clients often doesn't lead to great results.

@@irsmedic I agree. I feel exploited by the US government AND by the US tax professionals who are making a lot of money based on rules that 1) fail to prevent tax evasion while 2) costing the US tax payer billions to pay for oversight of complex rules and that 3) punish innocent Americans who happen not to live in the US while 4) mega corporations pay ZERO in federal tax. We expats are what you call 'collateral damage' in a political move that makes the government look good and makes the expat look like a criminal (who even has to report our personal accounts to a crimes organization)
