One option that students always have is to live on campus but it is comparitively expensive. Another option is to rent the whole property by themselves and live with couple of friends. Best and cheapest way to look for accommodation is Facebook groups, Gumtree and flatemates.

Hello. Is it better to first book a temporary accommodation and then search for houses once we land there or book a house from our home country before moving there??

A lot of people do that and it works for them better because once you know the situation in Australia, it becomes easier to book proper accommodation.
