"If it bleeds we can kill it" But seriously, love your videos, it inspired me to buy an FiTech kit for my project (LJ Torana, an Australian car). Watching you take that Pontiac for its first spin post EFI was the real kicker that sold me. Cheers Scott

Ha! Great quote. Also glad to hear I gave you some inspiration for going FiTech. I love it. Almost purely for the fact it never stalls. Thanks for the comment!

I’m about to do this for a fuel leak, thanks for this video. That single bottle is fine for atf and oil, but the fuel tank has to be pretty low or you need several bottles.I think driving slow is also a good idea to avoid the blowback effect.

Good point... not sure how to use it for fuel... keep us posted as to what worked for you!

How'd it work out with the fuel? I have a fuel leak in my jeep and am trying to troubleshoot it, as well
@hawkie3332 жыл бұрын
@@backcountryxpeditions655 It works well if you mix the dye with less than 5 gallons of fuel. I also waited until dark to get the best results.

I'll let you in on a lil' secret (you may have figured it out by now) they are never "done" (LOL) They're called Projets for a good reason. At least I'm picking up some good tips from yours Mike. That "quickchange" exhaust being a good one.

Glad to hear it was just the Trans I will have to make sure to check my TKX when it comes in. I am going to head off any fuel pump issues before they happen just ordered a Holly EFI Tank. I am Guess you are doing similar ?
@FastMonty3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Brian, next episode is a Fuel Pump change. Hopefully next week... unfortunately taking longer than I thought. Might actually take a week off, for once in my KZbin life. :) Your TKX is probably fine, mine was one of the first off the line, and first sent by SST with that bearing cap conversion. You're gonna love it!

Smart idea filling the trannsmission and pointing it down to check for leaks. Hopefully this fixes the problem for good. Are you still liking the transmission? Beautiful car!

Assuming this product is safe for engine oil? I have a small leak dripping in the same area as yours that is most likely my main seal.

Sure is Stan... hope it's not your rear main seal, and something more accessible. Good luck, let us know how it goes...

Monty what transmission is that ? It looks like a TB400 but I can't tell with the end of it. I'm assuming it's a standard ?

It's a Tremec TKX 5 Speed. I did a video on it, versus a TKO... just search TKX on my channel.
@nursecuenca2 жыл бұрын
Great video like always. I got leaks all over. From carburetor all the way to where bottom of starter bolts. Should I start from top by replacing heat insulator gasket? And can I use that ultra black tube?
@nursecuenca2 жыл бұрын
It's like my engine compartment caught ebola and it's bleeding out of every orifice
@FastMonty2 жыл бұрын
Ohhh man, don't like hearing that. You know, you might have a PVC issue. When you have too much crankcase pressure it'll try and push oil out of every seam. Search PVC on my channel page. I did a videonon that. That said. Yes, you can use the Ultra Black on the leaks. But, that's just a bandaid fix. Ideally, you need to re gasket those areas. Let me know how it goes.

Pretty pathetic that you have a new transmission that leaks. My Muncie in my 70 Z28 doesn’t leak. Great quality control today, NOT ! The factory should have put sealer on the front bearing retainer due to the holes going straight through, duh. Muncie is the same. If you don’t seal the threads then you will get a leak. Permates 2 works good on my tranny bolts. You say you needed to realign your clutch disc. Well I hope you didn’t reaf on it up and down to get it out. How the heck does it get out of wack? Weird.
@FastMonty3 жыл бұрын
I think it was a learning experience for SST. There was sealer on the bolts, just not enough... anyway, I might have dropped the tranny when removing it. But, it also doesn't take much to make a Twin Disc clutch mis-align. Went together fine, after realigning the plates. Thanks!
