Using a large magnet over the areas of your search for gold works as a good lead indicator. You always have iron with gold but not all iron deposits contain recoverable amounts of gold. The magnet helps with removing the nails and black sand quickly and getting the trash out of the way.

My bf likes doing stuff like this. Even if he gets no money he just likes doing something that gets our kids and us out. For 12 years hes brought us fossil hunting, to pick up the bullets at a shooting range thats actually not a shooting range but were people go to shot, to find coal, and my kids favorite is when we go crystal quartz looking. Lately hes into pouring computer chips into acid to get the gold out of it. So he searches the dumping sites for old computers which is a way is helping the environment. And he finds really cool stuff sometimes too. Im buying a gold panning kit and Im going to take him and our kids gold paning. We probably wont get much but I think hes going to enjoy this. Its right up his alley.

One tool that has proved incredibly useful is to get a large 300cc or even 500 cc syringe. Lop the tip off at an angle to its a little wider and you can use that to suck up all the little micro gold in the cracks. Suck it up and squirt it into a bucket or you can tip it nozzle up so the heavies are in the bottom shoot out 3/4 of the water and it’s ready to suck up some more without losing any of your first draw. Another use for it is to suck up river water and then shoot it into the cracks and crevasse and it will jet out all the gold that might be stuck up in there. Also great for washing those hard to get gold and black sands that are stuck in the bottom of your bucket. Very very versatile tool that you will find many uses for.

I'm new to all this I'm only 32 yrs old me n my wife got jobs at john deere in Greeneville Tennessee and we ended up moving in with my ol ladies mom in Marshall North Carolina it's like 5 mins from hot springs north Carolina we got natural hot springs due to ancient volcanoes n volcanic activity which is really cool. Iv found a ton of old volcanic rocks and volcanic glass in my mother in laws yard which is beside the creek / river.. and I been pulling out alot of Crystal's and amethyst and other really cool gems from this creek and the small creek / stream that flows off the mountain into the larger creek/river behind the house.. now i have heard Gold is mostly found where Crystal's are found well like iv said I have a absolute ton of very interesting Crystal's n amethyst and iv pulled 3 emeralds from this creek and the stream which is really interesting and I know Crystal's and amethyst are worth money and emeralds are worth a absolute fortune. Iv found a few gold pieces mostly flakes in the black n dark sand and iv found some silver as well.. and one 27 oz gold nugget that was legitimately laying at the road side in the stream. My heart bought stopped when I looked down after we got off work at 12:45am 3 days ago and parked the car and was headed in I actually was bout to play some xbox one online with my lil nephew he was struck by a train a few years back in Bristol Tennessee n it cut his leg off ect n I dont get to see him much ect so I was talking to him on the phone n I had to turn our flashlights on both our galaxy note 10 plus's and where they are colored with the glass ect the light will bounce off them with the stream as we walk across the small bridge the stream is only 7 inches or so deep and I normally spot some crystals at night because they are constantly washed down from the rain ect.. but that night I noticed a yellow rock size of a half dollar with some white spots like crystal rocks on it.. at first I figured it was my phones back glass reflecting with the light n water like it normally does but this was something special I dropped our food on the ground n even my phone fell into the stream where the nugget was where I went to grab it real fast lol i pull it out and it was heavy yellow n had a milky white crystal stuck in it in some spots my heart flew man. I yelled at my fiancee telling her I found gold in the yard n she laughed n said yeah sure babe. I ran in the house into the living room turned on the lights threw my phone n jacket on the couch n opened my hand n it sure was a golden rock "nugget"... I took it to our local gold shop in ashville north Carolina n they done a acid test n said it was pure gold n told me to not melt it nor remove the Crystal's from it because it was worth way more in its natural form.. it weighs just under 28 ozs as is. I kno the comment is long I guess where I'm excited bout it this area is full of gems ect I guess because it's in the Appalachian mountains and in a ancient hot springs area never mind out ect.. now I kno this gold nugget had to come off the mountain during the big storm last week or a few weeks ago we had a major flood so it had to come from it.. so my question is if that nugget fell from the stream down to the road side where the stream goes into the creek shouldn't there be more where it came from??? Or is gold formed in small portions and it's a hit or miss kinda thing?

Rock transitions are good too. There is one road about 20 miles from me that goes from shale to tuff, then basalt for a couple of miles, then limestone for about a mile, then back to basalt, and finally back to shale. All in about 6 miles. We have found a bit of gold by the roadway, but don't go more than a few feet, as it is private land. Further along it is BLM land, but nearly vertical in some places.
@kosmow20132 жыл бұрын
@@mkay1957 contact points are great places to start but gold is always found with iron, however not all iron deposits have recoverable gold. Gold exists in 90% of rocks but it doesn't mean that it's worth crushing all rocks to get the gold out of it. Fine gold is a challenge to capture and anything smaller than flour size requires chemicals to capture typically. Even iron pyrites are known to have gold in the rock that has it and large chunks of fool's gold can contain gold in it. The small iron nails or the small metals that are rusting away won’t hurt the Water but only add little bits of iron back into it because some plants and fish rely on iron minerals to survive, it’s the TVs, washers, microwaves and big items that will pollute the water because it’s a overload of iron concentrated in one spot that it’s releasing and that will definitely kill a habitat!

By 5 minutes in, I realized that you know how to keep the camera moving constantly; by 10 minutes in I realized that it was going to be impossible to actually see what`s going on because of the constant movement. Some who are NOT experienced need to be able to see things SLOWER than you experienced folks see them. Your eyes are trained to spot tiny things, but you move so FAST that few newbies can learn what you`re trying to teach. I would have to watch this in slo-mo and stop every time that I need to train my eyes to see what you see. I really enjoy your video. Mainly because you're not running wide open but taking your time to enjoy the hunt as well. It's very relaxing to watch and educational. Thanks Kyle.

I’m from the Arkansas side. About 30 minutes from Missouri. There’s a creek below moms house that had miners in it for years, and then another creek where it’s documented to have miners panning. I’ll be out trying this sometime this week. I’ve metal detected for over 30 years in Missouri and Arkansas so I’ll be definitely trying this out

Where I live in Missouri, there was supposedly a silver mine. Story goes that some local hill folk knocked over a Spanish carriage carrying a buttload of silver coins. Melted it all down. And hid it in a cave, so they would go to the cave to "mine" and always come out with these huge chunks of silver. Legendary

I do a little magnet fishing and I pull handfuls of nails out of my local creek I mean handfuls, I've not found anything of value but the value is trying to do my part to clean up what I can of the water ways.

I live in NC too and there are a few abandoned mines about 3 miles from my house. They are over 100 years old. There are deep holes still in the ground and I've heard that there are a couple of bodies down there also.

And he is so right about not listening to anybody about where gold is normally found. I personally talk to people who found gold where everyone said it would not be. Also gold has a special or around it and when you come across it anywhere in nature, you just know instinctively it's gold. And don't let anybody around you tell you any different. The song 'Fields of Gold' by Sting, comes to mind.

There's just so little gold remaining in comparison to what there once was. I live in Alaska, in a fairly remote area, and I still find it extremely difficult to scrape up enough gold to make it worth my time and effort.
@theroyalcrownedtiger29463 жыл бұрын
It seems the worth while sized gold is already mostly scooped up, by others. All that remains is the tiny amounts of gold, not worth while sized one.

I went out gold panning for the first time. Everything that fell to the bottom is "black sand" or AKA iron/whatever. But in that is shiny black and silver objects that lay at the bottom just as gold. There's so much limestone and colored rocks that look just like gold that I really need to see what it looks like.

Thanks man. I live right around the corner from a gold mine and I have a creek near by, and there is tones of quarts in the ground, same as the ground at the gold mine. I even have a hand pump device that might work for a dredge,.

I grew up on the Consumnes river up in the foot hills of California. My dad traded an old panhead and $10,000 for 40 acres on the river in 1980, all of his friends laughed at him until he bought an old dredge and filled a bunch of baby food jars to the brim with gold in one summer. We lived in tents on the river until we finished building our house, had to live in an old trailer in the winter. My dad and his buddies pulled a ton of gold out of that river and I had amazing fishing holes left by the dredge. I actually panned quite a bit of gold years later in the same area of the river.

FYI, there is gold in tree leaves. Some scientist sampled some and was like WTF .. then started really digging into the subject (so to speak). First the amount of gold trees bring up is minuscule, and it is in all tissues of the plant, it is super tiny, probably nano-particles. Turns out that trees growing in an area with higher concentrations of gold have more gold in their tissues. Seems you could use the trees to find better areas to prospect for underground or strip mines. Thought I'd share.

I can't wait for my first time to pan some gold! I'm trying to talk to family into riding into the mountains here in North Carolina to search for some? I live on the outer Banks right on the coast. But I would love to find a place where I can prospect on my own kind of like you're doing. Great video thanks for the information brother! ✌🏼❤️💪🏼
@brianmorris3642 жыл бұрын
Maybe around the base of great pilot mountain If there any creeks id start there. At the outer banks there was tons of pirate activity and that would be a great place to use a high quality metal detector. Nags head got it's name from pirates using an old nag horse with a lantern sround it's neck to walk the beach and cause larger ships to run aground then the oirates would go out in rowboats and rob them of gold and silver.

What I have read about gold in MO has all said mainly only FLOUR GOLD and mainly north of the Missouri River. Ground down from the glacial melt of previous ice ages. At today's price, even flour gold is a good find, just hard to separate from the other heavies. Cool up load tho 👍👍 Keep your eyes open for Arrowheads, some can bring HUGE money 😉
