Thanks for the reply The point is we wouldn’t buy Minelab unless they were bloody good In reference to the ground balance I was unaware that the 6000 had to be ground balanced as often, I realise every so often it’s appropriate, when ground changes and you get false signals As I said the Equinox 800 is good for relics and jewellery coins and things I operate one overseas and it’s good Thanks

Pero el balance de suelo cuando estamos cerca de un objetivo tiene q ser igual al principio cuando lo prendemos o es solo mover la bobina un paso atrás?

no- ground balancing just near a target simply helps us decide if the signal is a sudden change in ground mineralization vs a metal target. ideally running in auto ground balance ensures the machine is properly ground balanced all the time, but occasionally the ground will change faster than the machine can keep up with. If you get a signal, then balance near (but not over it) and the signal vanishes, you can be fairly confident it is just a ground noise. If it remains, then it is likely a metal target and you should dig!

unfortunately lead and gold have such similar conductivity, they can't be distinguished by detectors- if you are finding bits of lead, you can be confident your machine will find gold when you do come across it!

Hi guys when running in gold 2 should I run multi frequency or 40 kHz as I’m loving going bush for gold
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia Жыл бұрын
I prefer running in Multi. The key is a very slow sweep speed- 3-4 seconds side to side) and to ground balance the machine every few meters as you go, just by bobbing the coil

Hi can I use my coils off my gold monster on a equinox 800
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Glen, no- generally coils are made to suit the parameters of each machine or series of machines so will only work with the machines they were designed for

Thanks wat is the best coil for gold on equinox 800
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
all coils find gold equally good as one another. Smaller coils will give a sharper response on tiny pieces (the most commonly found) but will lose a bit of depth on larger targets. the bigger coils will still find tiny gold (although the signal will be quieter) but pick up more depth on large bits. The 6" from Minelab or the 10x5" from coiltek are the most popular on the goldfields as they give the sharpes response to the small plentiful pieces

I found this video quick and to the point. One question: Does it matter what mode noise cancel is done on or should it be done on "all metal" rather than Gold 2 ?
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
it isn't super critical- if you are not getting any emi chatter when the machine is held still, a noise cancel is not even really needed. If you want to get pedantic, i would personally only noise cancel in the detecting mode you are using- ie gold 1 or gold 2. being in all metal is only a discrimination pattern in your chosen detecting mode, so won't make a difference.
@mikebloodworth9258
@mikebloodworth9258 2 жыл бұрын
@@MinersDenAustralia Thanks for the clarification that noise cancel is a global function and discrimination makes no difference.

My question is what is gold ring up on the meter and what tone does it make?
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
tone does not come into play in the gold prospecting mode as all targets produce the same tone- smaller surface targets (or large deep ones) will be a very quiet response, where as large shallow targets will be loud. Likewise the id numbers will vary too- a tiny nugget or lead pellet may come up anywhere from -1 to 2 or 3 and as the size of the nugget increases, so to will the id number. Most nuggets you are likely to find though will be between -1 to 13 though.

@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia Жыл бұрын
i would really only do so in a beach environment, and mostly only the higher (-1 and -2's) as that is where you are most likely to find the small gold items that may come up like that. Elsewhere, there will usually be way too much rusty iron bits and aluminium can-slaw to be worth digging for the occasional ear stud or chain.

When you say ground balance every 10 steps do you mean to just pump the coil a few times?
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
if you are running in auto ground balance, yes- pumping the coil every few Meters or so is what you need do. It just ensures that your ground balance is perfect at all times as ground mineralization can change very quickly and the machine may not keep up with it.

right! You shouldn't need to do anything special with the machine. ground balancing (pumping the coil) is really only needed in areas where the ground is salty or magnetic- in this case bricks should be neither. any metal in there should be detectable

So you are doing an auto ground balance with auto tracking but still ground balance every ten steps, with this method would you be better not to have auto tracking on ?
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
no- even with auto ground balance on, the ground can change quicker than the machine can keep up with. Manually pumping the coil regularly ensures your ground balance is perfect all the time. Think of it as having the best of both auto and manual ;)

@@MinersDenAustralia Okay thanks for your reply, sensitivity I understand, but with gold 2 having a slower recovery how is it better in 'difficult' ground, as I understand a faster recovery speed helps in highly mineralized ground. Is gold 2 weighted more to the 20kHz range? And therefore not as sensitive to small gold ?
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
the trick with the equinox in the goldfields is to slow down you sweep speed- having a lower recovery speed when detecting hot ground may result in lots of unwanted chatter if you are detecting at a normal slow walking pace- to take advantage of the technology, rather than increasing your recovery speed, physically slow down your sweep speed- imagine tying your shoe-laces together and that is the pace you want to go. This will allow you maximum depth while allowing the machine to smooth out the chatter. If you go with a fast recovery speed in a goldfield you will find that small metallic targets will give a very clipped signal making them hard to hear. Running in gold 2 does help in extreme ground conditions and as you say is weighted to slightly lower frequencies so does lose a little oomph on the teeny tiny pieces.

G’day mate Yeh well not convinced,ground balance every 10 steps ??? Would be good to see you find a nugget in ground that hasn’t been salted That would rectify any doubts I know there good on relics and beaches, but gold nuggets Well needs to be proved The 6,000 are finding gold smaller than shotgun pellets What can the equinox 800 find ??? It would be an interesting exercise Thanks
@MinersDenAustralia
@MinersDenAustralia 2 жыл бұрын
We know everyone has their own opinion, however saying that they can't find gold that has not been 'salted' is just that- an opinion. We have many customers finding gold regularly with the Equinox, myself included, particularly in areas where there is too much trash for PI machines. Owning a 6000 and Equinox myself, both get used regularly in the goldfields in different situations. As for ground balancing every 10 steps, i do that with all machines on the goldfields anyway- being slightly out of ground balance can mean the difference between hearing a target and walking right over it. And in terms of size targets the 800 can find, my smallest nugget with it was 0.06grm at about 1" deep using the 11" coil, detecting extremely slowly, running a low sensitivity and very smooth threshold. No matter what machine you own, if you do not know it intimately or you do not have the patience to work slowly, you will not be finding much.
