Low tide in Tampa Bay is also a great way to find pools and deep spots that hold fish. Depending on the exact area, the bottom can go either way- very firm or muck that is just short of quicksand! We don't have the marshland like you, but mangrove (or condos) line most of the area! I imagine tailing reds in the marsh would be quite a sight.

They are hard to find tailing. But when you do, it's fun. I carry binoculars and, thankfully, can stand up in my kayak to get a bead on them. I would love to fish mangroves - better scenery!

Google Earth is a good way to pre-scout an area. You can see channels and other features that you can confirm when your on the water or by walking the area at low tide as you demonstrated. Good video.

Indiana doesn't get a low tide, so I can't use your tip here. our low tide is during a drought. Your other options would be Google earth or survey with a drone to keep your boots clean.

You bet. I use Google Earth to scout new spots. The feature that allows you to cycle thru the different satellite images of the same location taken at different times is huge.
