Great job BTW.

Such a great explanation, thank you Sir. I would to ask about the EC50, you said at 11:16 the EC50 will be explained later because the value is so little. Based on your data, the range is about 1-10 uM, but the IC50 is under the lowest concentration. Meanwhile, the percentage/transform data shows 0-100% inhibition. Does it mean the IC50 concentration should be in the range of 1-10uM too? I have similar results and problems. Thank you very much for you answer.

Thanks for the explanation. Nice step. I have a doubt. if concentration is in microg/ml, then which is to be select from boxes of response-inhibitor. Thanks

In your case, if you used a drug concentrations of micrograms per milliliter (µg/mL) and want to plot your inhibitor values in GraphPad Prism, then your "Inhibitor" column would also be in units of µg/mL.

Hello What do you consider as response, death of animal or changes in biochemical parameters (%) to calculate the NOAEL value. Also tell me any software that is freely accessible to calculate benchmark dose.
@JunaidAsgharPhD Жыл бұрын
The NOAEL (No Observed Adverse Effect Level) value is the highest dose of a substance that does not cause any statistically or biologically significant adverse effects in an animal study. The response used to calculate the NOAEL value will depend on the specific toxicological study and the endpoints being evaluated. Benchmark Dose Software (BMDS) can be downloaded for free from the EPA's website, and it provides a user-friendly interface for calculating the benchmark dose, as well as other useful statistical functions for dose-response analysis.

Thank you for the suggested software! You made graphpad a more approachable tool to use!

Can you please tell me what is the difference between IC50 and EC50?
@JunaidAsgharPhD Жыл бұрын
The difference between EC and IC is just a matter of naming conventions and doesn't reflect any significant differences in meaning. EC stands for effective concentration IC stands for inhibitory concentration and is used to denote dose-response curves that go down because the drug inhibits the response.

Noemalization means what here?
@JunaidAsgharPhD Жыл бұрын
Normalization allows you to compare and analyze data that may have different scales or units, making it easier to interpret the relative changes in response between different groups or conditions. In GraphPad Prism, normalization is often used to express data as a percentage of a reference value, which helps standardize data from different experiments or assays.
